La Cocina de Tata — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

New residents of SMA we walked by Tata the day prior on the way to the Mercado artesanal and thought we’d give the restaurant a try today. Without looking 👀 at google reviews (yes, I write ✍️ a lot of reviews) we took a chance on the friendly welcome from the staff and cute patio with nice view… Tata did not disappoint! They practiced their inglés while we practiced our español. Mi esposa enjoyed her hotcakes and I got the paquete special of chilaquiles, café y fruit plate. Delicious with home made salsa picante 🌶️ on the side. Highly recommend if you’re in the colonia. We walked there, parking is a challenge....

Highly, highly recommend! My partner and I spent a week in SMA and eating here was truly one of the greatest highlights of our trip. We just happened upon this restaurant while walking around. Family operated, the owner and his daughter Melissa served us a delicious meal in an absolutely gorgeous rooftop setting. This restaurant offers stunning views and a beautiful atmosphere. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour, clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Authentic cuisine.
