Mx RoofTop — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

The waiter was very sweet. I have celiac. The waiter told me what was gluten free. I ordered. They brought me out breaded fried fish. The manager came over and argued with my 12 year old son, who was trying to protect my health. The manager did nothing to help but charged me all the food I could not eat. He was not kind at all. He does not know me and I really am kind to everyone. When someone is not kind to me and it is also embarrassing to order gluten free it hurts. I have never had anyone be so cold and then charge me for food I could not eat and did not eat. Meal was over $40. I feel sorry for the staff. I will not say what I do for a living as it does not matter. I have many people working with me and for me he is not anyone that should ever be in customer service. I feel very sorry for the staff and have no idea why they hired him. I do not want to think he is bad but arguing with a 12 year old who is from Ethiopia and the mom does not speak English is very sad. He was only trying to protect his mom from being sick. Rooftop bar and restaurant is very loud. Good music but loud. 2 bouncers outside to monitor guest entry. We didnt hv issues getting in. Stairs are on the narrow side. Wear good shoes, avoid mini skirts and watch your step. Young crowd. Lots of smoke. Ashtrays on the tables tell me its encouraged/ok as with most patios in town (hard to get away from that here). Competing music volume with next rooftop patio next door. Service is good. English was not a problem. Food is creative. On the pricey side as this small meal was $744 MX plus tip. The recipes for tasty pairings are there but the amt of sauce or salt can be better adjusted. Spicy soy sauce is a fun Mexican sushi twist. Also sunomono has no real noodles. They use a squash like veggie instead. Nice healthy and fresh alternative. Tasted great. Good place for large group...

The worst place I've been in San Miguel. The first time I went there we were greeted really nicely and the servers were amazing. But the second time I took some other friends they treated us like garbage. I had made a reservation for my birthday, they had us sit at our spot and everything went great. But after we were ready to make our orders, they made us leave. The "manager" didn't give me an explanation and insisted on us to leave. Apparently some of my friends didn't look European/American enough to be welcomed at this stablishment.
