Ocre — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

Was excited to come on a nice date night here for a special occassion. Waited 20 minutes at our table for the server to take out order. Another group that came in at the same time as us ordered, were served, and finished before we even were asked for our order. There were about 5 people at the door for some reason, seems like one of them could have taken our order. Left without ordering, walked across the street to Trazo 1810 and had a great meal! A group of friends went for food and drinks on May 14, 2023. I don’t know what happened to this place but they have gone downhill . We have been many times and they always had a nice happy hour menu. Yesterday they had some drinks but no food. I ordered a salad and they brought out one with shrimp. I never ordered that. They then brought out a romaine salad with artichoke hearts. Sadly we had the most inedible meal at Ocre tonight. My husband took one bite of his coconut shrimp and called over the chef/owner and told him the shrimp tasted unfresh. Instead of doing the right thing and offering another dish, he argued with us and did not remove it from the bill. We love going to hear Antonio the piano player over the years and have brought many visitors to join us .
