Stayed for Christmas and got the Grinch an Ebenezer Scrooge at the same time. Experienced a lost baggage money tactic immediately upon arrival. Common taxi company drove off with my bag (with passports and jewelry) in the front seat. Front desk “attempted” to halt taxi at front gate, and also failed to stop the taxi at subsequent gates. Waited and stressed for hours until the taxi returned demanding $100s in fees.
3rd party booking company didn’t offer an option for adults vs children’s. Arrived with only children and hotel refused to correctly apply difference.
We had big plans for Christmas ramen noodles until we all arrived to find the restaurant essentially closed due to lack of staff. This also poured over into our Brazilian steakhouse Christmas Eve expectation of service where there was only an open self serve option available. We could also be considered the Scrooge, but the hotel should understand their expectations during holiday seasons.
I slept on the sleeper sofa, which was broken. It left me in the worst back pain of my life while in let my kids sleep on the actual beds. The hotel was made completely aware of the uncomfortable sleeper sofa and failed to address the problem. They refused my request to provide a complimentary message to soothe my back that resulted from their broken sleeper sofa.
Paid for an ocean view that was only viewable if I leaned over the edge of my balcony railing.
Only good food was seated in the actual restaurants. Poolside food took forever to receive and was bland.
Extremely slow low WiFi. Couldn’t watch Home Alone on Christmas Eve and we were forced to simply go to sleep.
We had a much better time staying at a resort hotel downtown after our...
Read moreWe were in Cozemel last Tuesday Februry 1, 2022 for half the day before our excursion we purchased from the our ship (Celebrity Reflection). Sometime in the morning we visited Hard Rock Cafe's souvenir shop and purchased a couple of shirts for gifts and I was given a beautiful green tank top at no charge that was on display (it was the last one and was slightly altered). But unfortunately after we paid for stuff we left it on the counter. We are pretty sure the gentleman behind the counter realized this but did not inform us as we were walking away. It wasn't until a couple hours later that we realized we didn't have our stuff from there but had all other bags. Neither one of us grabbed it thinking the other one did. We were both pretty upset by that as we absolutely loved all of Cozemel and enjoyed our time in that shop. Our advice is to be careful and make sure you grab your souvenirs, pretty sure we made them happy giving them approximately $63ish dollars for absolutely nothing in return. I know it was our mistake but the guy behind the counter had plenty of time to make us aware before...
Read moreA smaller Hard Rock Cafe with 2 floors. The bar and smaller seating area are on the first floor, while the second floor has a larger seating area and patio. The food that we ordered was ok, not great. I expected better food quality for the brand; and having visited over a dozen HRC, can say it was not the best. With this being a smaller restaurant there is not tons of memorabilia. The nice thing about this place is the location. It is easy to see off the main road and close to the cruise ports. As a side note I would always recommend that you pay in pesos not USD as the conversion rate was much higher than your credit card or other exchanges place would charge. They really wanted me to pay in USD on my credit card and had to insist that I wanted to pay in pesos a couple of times. The way the staff handled this made it seem a bit dodgy as if they were profiting from the difference in exchange rates. Next time on the island would not go back. TL;DR--good for some photos and maybe desert, but not a meal. Pay with Pesos for...
