FOOD: American. Tastes like everything comes out of the can. Unfortunately, we also found several plastic stripes in the Mole and in the bean paste of the empanadas. The chef was understanding and tried to find out what happened, but did not apologize for the inconvenience. He then suggested it was probably onions. Well, do you think you can differentiate between the consistency of plastic stripes and onions? We think we can. Long, round, hard stripes in different colors that are neither chewable nor rippable are plastic. Espacially if it is a sauce and the stripes are visible there. No misunderstanding here. At least he was so kind that we didn't have to pay for the food containing the beanpaste. Sauce: was newly bought. Spanish salsa, which I also have at home, it is nice, but not mexican and british Worchester sauce, which I personally also dont need in Mexico, where they have so many wonderful home made sauces.
SERVICE: was ok, but slow.
AMBIENTE: there were spring break necklaces on the Lamps and several TVs, so one does not need to talk to each other but both can watch TV. Very distracting.

Read moreThe Ribeye Tacos were super delicious and extra stuffed with meat, guacamole, pico de gallo and came in a set of 3 (all of their tacos are priced in sets of 3). I highly recommend their Margaritas - only 100 pesos ($5) and they beat a number of other places on the island. They only offer a few dessert options on the menu, but it's worth asking if they have any special dessert options that day. During the afternoon it is very quiet - great for a relaxing meal after a long day at the beach. During the evening it has a lively casual beach shack vibe. The utensils came prepacked in sanitary bags and the restaurant overall was quite clean and well-maintained. They have indoor seating with fans and televisions as well as outdoor seating on a private enclosed patio (with nice lighting in...
Read moreI absolutely loved this restaurant. The food is amazing and so reasonably priced - I had 3 shrimp tacos for only 90 pesos. The atmosphere is also nice and relaxing and the wine selection very good. Special shout out to Victor who became my favorite restaurant person in Cozumel. Funny this place is owned by the same people who own La Cocay ... Because while Chela Nah was so nice to me as a solo woman traveler - for the last two times I have been in Cozumel La Cocay has not treated me well as a solo woman diner - and 5 years ago this was one of my favorite places to eat in Cozumel.
So go to Chela Nah instead - delicious food and drink, fun atmosphere with garden and delightful staff -...
