We read the reviews for this place and were very excited. We try to avoid tourist traps. The food was good, but the experience was one bad thing after another. First, we sit down expecting a brewery and they are out of every single type of beer except for sours. We settle for cocktails which were a little off but fine. Then, we order main dishes and heard great things about fish tacos and fish tortas so all 8 of us order one or the other. The waiter the tells us they are out of fish…….. ok, we decide on something else. Food shows up and is good, mix of pork, shrimp, and chicken. The worst was at the end. All 8 of us have had appetizers, food and multiple drinks totaling over $300 USD. And they tell us the credit card machine is broken. At this point we have seen other tables pay with credit cards so this is very hard to believe. It sounds as if they saw our table total and decided we needed to pay cash. We had to go to the ATM and everyone was so fed up at that point I felt the need to leave...
Read moreOne of two breweries in San Miguel de Cozumel (definitely check out Cerveceria Punta Sur a few blocks away as well) and a must-do if you are a beer aficionado (or if you are just tired of the many tourist traps in Cozumel). Owner Sergio is both welcoming and knowledgeable, and his beers, although few in number, are all very well done! Just go!
UPDATE: Back for New Year's and had lunch (as well as a few pints). Unbelievably delicious tacos! And 3 delicious sauces (one for each taco, coincidence?). This will be my go-to lunch while in El Centro!
UPDATE 2: How can you possibly improve this small cervezas y tacos joint?!...
Read moreBest brewery on the island, hands down! This place offers delicious tacos, beer and great ambiance.
The creativity of the beers is unparalleled. You really get that micro brewery feel. The care and detail that is put into all of the flavors will have you coming back for sure. The tacos are loaded! You won’t be disappointed no matter what you end up ordering.
I love going to Kusam, talking to the owners (they’re suuuper friendly), and having a little hang out spot that’s close to the hustle and bustle of downtown but removed enough to have it not be crazy.
Did I mention this place is pet friendly?! If your four (or three) legged babe is well behaved and would be sad to see you go to Kusam by yourself, then bring them along with you :).
What else can I say? Just go and try it for yourself. You will not be...
