Diego's Beach & Grill — Restaurant in Sinaloa

The Good Great location on the public beach. I believe they renovated their restrooms which were clean (for a Mazatlan bathroom). Service was attentive and friendly.

The Bad No Pacifico or Corona? Pacifico is brewed and bottled here! Our waiter said they were in dispute with the supplier. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and Deigo's cheeseburger w/fries. The waiter brought us a paper plate with Lay's plain potato chips sprinkled with a spicy powder and a cup of sour cream? Are they fighting with the tortilla supplier also? Pizza was ok, not sure if we would reorder. The burger was served with about 7 fries that were sprinkled with the spicy powder, and the burger was very pink. Against my better judgment I proceeded to eat half the burger. The manager explained that the burger was a beef/bacon mix and offered to make a new one, we declined. They did take it off our bill. Decided against resort buffet and wanted to check this place out. Wanted to be seated close to the beach for the view, but server said not available, even though guests were already sitting there and were eating. Took forever for someone to take my drink and food order, even though there were more servers than patrons at the time. After yet another couple was seated in the area close to the beach (previously not available), apparently it is now opened up. Curious. I ordered a beer, burger and fries, yet two more couples who were seated long after I was got their dinner order before I did. More curious. Finally got my food, but by this time, I was no longer interested in being in the restaurant - left a bad taste. Seems like a popular spot for locals and expats. The octopus was tender and sweet and didn’t need extra sauce, however, It would’ve been better if the skin and jelly on the head was peeled before grilling. Beer was cold. The shrimp and chips is a total no from me though. And the pulpo y camarones para picar was a very small portion and bland. Service is usually quick and pretty attentive and the choice of music is trendy at a good volume for conversation. The bathrooms were dim but private.
