La Plăcinte — Restaurant in Buiucani Sector

Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures. Pros: The restaurant is very nice with outdoor settings and is a big roomy place. The decor is modern and has a tapas theme.

Our reservation was for 8pm for 30+ people, including children.

Cons: The waiters were clueless. Very grumpy 😠 couldn't get them to take orders properly, couldn't find them, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all with other customers. Eventually, we got some food, and i do mean some food as 5 of us didn't get anything. 😡 Our food came in drips and drabs. Not all at the same time. Staff dumped most of the food on 1 table. Very unorganised. We had to sort it out ourselves. The waiting staff didn't care at all. The food was mediocre, nothing great. THAN whilst most of us were eating our dinner and others were still waiting for their food, the restaurant decided to turn down the lights, around 10:15pm. 😱 Most of the staff were leaving. This is Friday night. In the end, by 10:40pm, we were told that the kitchen is closed and there's nothing they can for our friends who didn't get any food. By that time, most of the lights were switched off with a few staff left to lock up and settle our bill.

My thoughts: What a disgraceful establishment. This is meant to be 1 of the top places to dine in Moldova Chisinau on Google. As a tourist, please do yourselves a favour and avoid this dog poo of a place and stick to KFC, as you will get your food and won't be hungry and disappointed. Proper...

Even though La placinte is a chain, I'm blown away by the quality of the food here. It's fantastic!

Actually I'm blown away by the quality of the food and wine in Moldova and the culinary scene in Chisinau. Moldovans LOVE quality. As someone who has lived in Greece many years this is something I absolutely love about Moldova. Quality.

I find myself going to La placinte quite a lot since being in Chisinau a week. It's spotless clean, great services, fab prices, varied menu, great salads and as a tourist you have to try their tocana cu pork (photo attached). It's soooo delicious. I love their Vitamin salad and baked beans. Everything is excellent. If only every chain in the world made food and the experience this good.

this is the perfect place to show a tourist moldovan cuisine and a little bit of tradition! as a moldovan myself, I find this place amazing, and I find it entertaining and nice as well. the music is really nice and the service was good as well. the food cane quickly, and we didn't have to wait, although at another restaurant I had a different experience. In general, this place is really nice and cozy, but the service and the food depend on the day when you go. If the restaurant is packed and extremely busy, you can wait hours for your food, and when the food comes, it's dry and cold, but if the place is not really busy, then the food is quick and tasty. so, my recommendation is to visit this place during the day, when the restaurant isn't full...
