Google Maps described this place as casual and cozy, but it was a lot fancier than we were led to expect.
TL;DR: Really nice place. Food is on the expensive side, but servings are relatively large, food tasted great, and service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try Moroccan food in a fine dining setting.
Initially, my wife and I picked this place, because 1) we wanted a very good meal for our last dinner in Morocco, and 2) it was just a few hundred meters from our hotel. There was a bit of confusion when we were looking for it, because instead of a cozy restaurant, we found a Hyatt Regency where it was supposed to be. We decided we would at least take a look inside before dismissing it (as we had almost exhausted our dirhams by this point of the trip).
Once we found it, my wife decided she was too tired and hungry to look for another choice for dinner. After we verified that they accept credit card payments, we went in. We felt terribly under-dressed entering the restaurant even though we were the first diners of the evening. The place mimics a very fancy tent with its canopied ceiling, large lanterns, and intricately designed carpet floor. A musician was just preparing for his performance when we sat down on one of the couch-style seats at the edge of the room.
Our waiter spoke French, a bit of English, and (I assume) Arabic. He was very polite and made us feel comfortable. We ordered just two dishes: 1) the Moroccan salad - a large and filling dish of 6 plates which included oysters, sweetened tomatoes with apricots, eggplant, and a bunch of other things I can't remember - and 2) the mixed grill - chicken, beef, and kefta kebab on plate of vegetables. We each had a glass of their house wine to go along with the food. Along with a basket of bread and bowl of olives (both free) this was more than enough to leave us full and satisfied.
Our total bill came up to a little under 700 dhm, easily our most expensive meal of this trip, but unlike some other cheaper meals we had, we felt that this meal was well...

Read moreThank you for that wonderful last evening in Morocco!! Yes, the food itself is more pricey BUT thats totally justified because: fantastic interiors and lighting like in a fairytale out of 1001 nights, tasty, juicy Tajin(350 MAD)with fruits in it after many fastfood disappointnents this vacation, a show with life Orchester and a sexy belly dancer. Last but not least, the staff is very attentive and sweet, trying to make your stay as nice as possible. Got traditional cookies and snacks and in the end a waitress even helped me to get a taxi. A must see in a rather...
