Cosmo Mogador — Restaurant in Essaouira

My partner and I ate here tonight from 19:45-21:30. We are both English tourists for reference.

Finding the place was a little tricky (not too difficult after asking a doorman) Google Maps shows it to be on the other side of the alley, however it is in fact in the same building as the bars (Taros) if you enter the alley it is shown to be on but turn right into the staircase (usually guarded by doormen) you head up to the first floor and the restaurant is infront of you. The doormen were very helpful and kind. They guided us to the exact entrance of Cosmo. We were then greeted by a very attentive group of staff who allowed us to pick a table in a beautifully decorated establishment with plenty of seating and ambience.

Everything was provided in a very courteous and efficient manner. Initially, we asked a kind lady who had welcomed us for her recommendation on two cocktails according to our taste, this was provided and they were both excellent. The barman clearly knew the trade well. We were given some fried bread and hummus, with a basket of bread to accompany our drinks.

We ordered 2 dishes to start (Tempura Battered Broccoli and Teriyaki Green Beans). Followed by two dishes acting as our main courses (Chimichurri Beef and the Lamb Naan). The food was of exceptional quality, adequate portion sizes (smaller than a full meal but we prefer this with fine dining!). The service throughout was prompt and very high quality.

I highly recommend the food we had along with one of the cocktails (Lima Sour).

Honestly, everything about this service was incredible, smallest attention to detail, the best food I have had for a long time (I am picky) and beautiful tasteful decor throughout. I rarely visit the same place twice but if I come back to Essaouira, this would be my first stop.

Lovely discovery in Essaouira! We wanted to have a drink before going out for dinner. On the first floor, there's a trendy bar and restaurant with nice seating options and lounges. We had a cocktail at the bar; the bartender was very friendly, so we asked for a drink recommendation. The cocktail was good, and we sat comfortably at the bar with a great vibe; the music ambiance was nice, and the staff were very friendly and professional. Unfortunately we did not have an overall good experience. We ordered some starters and main dishes and by mistake they served our food to the next table that arrived later than us. We waited for a long time, the other table have already finished to eat our dishes when they came to tell us those dishes were not available anymore because of their mistake. Finally, we ate a cold courgette (that was supposed to be a hot dish) and they brought our mains - that were very good but by that time we were starving and tired of their confusion.
