La Petit Perle is our absolute favourite restaurant in Essaouira. Dris is the boss/ host and treats everyone like they are invited to a dinner at home with family and friends.

We had two people who were vegetarian and who had the best veggie tajine from the stay in Morocco. The salads are also brilliant.

The chicken and lemon tajine is fantastic!! Lovely atmosphere and very clean toilet.

I could not recommend La Petit Perle...

Maybe we had bad luck, but it was very weird: The waiter simply didn't communicate with us. Ok, English is not a primary language in Morocco, but 'thank you', 'you are welcome' or a 'here you are' are not so complex phrases, I think. Especially if there are only tourist at the place... The beef tajin was a lot, but extremely greasy. (Even for me.) Less and better meat would have...

Good: They offer good food with fair prices. The ambient is nice and friendly. Not so good: The staff are pretty slow. It took them a long time to take our order and took even longer to bring the starter and the main course. We had to remind them that we have ordered desert. So if you are very hungry or in a hurry don't go there! You can only pay in cash. Notice: no alcoholic...

Located in the Essaouira Medina this is a lovely little restaurant offering Moroccan food and some European dishes. They offer a variety of Tagines as well as several Couscous dishes. The service was a little slow but the food was well worth the wait. The Lamb Tagine was excellent.
