This is the first restaurant that stands out when you walk from the Medina along the boardwalk to enjoy the beach, the sunshine and looking at the waves… the kites, the surfers, the dogs, the cats and all the other happy additions to it.
When you get tired of walking and feel like cozy beds, pillows, but still profit the same view, accompanied by a friendly service - you have arrived… M Beach.
I must of been here about 20 times. Every day I walk by and tell myself: “No.. go for something else today please.. different is good.. “ and sure enough eventually I drift right back here …To enjoy a chilled glass of beautiful Moroccan rose, fresh olives, a proper bread, while waiting for some great food and watching the world go by…
Although the people watch is fascinating, but most of the times you get to see some brief performances from local musicians and energetic keen young acrobats. There is zero pressure, they are quite casual and polite. Normally you will feel like contributing few coins yourself. I try to make sure I have some.
However, the best part here I think - is the staff. They are always courteous and accommodating, and go an extra mile either it’s necessary or unnecessary. It’s part of the team spirit. And if you make a contact with them in a nice manner- you get friends for life, and after that it feels like coming back home.

Read moreI recently visited M Beach in Essaouira with my family, my boyfriend, and his parents – we are all Dutch, though I am of Moroccan descent. While the location is beautiful and the atmosphere was otherwise relaxing, we were left deeply disappointed by an uncomfortable and discriminatory experience.
When we tried to order drinks on the terrace, the server, Adil, informed us that he could not serve me alcohol – only my boyfriend and his parents – because I “look Moroccan” and, according to him, alcohol cannot be served to Muslims in public. Despite me clarifying that I am Dutch and not a Muslim, the assumption based on my appearance was enough to deny me service.
This experience was not only awkward but also unfair. Making assumptions about someone’s religion or beliefs based on how they look goes against the principles of hospitality, inclusivity, and respect – especially in a place that caters to international visitors.
I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and train staff to avoid stereotyping guests. Every customer should be treated equally, regardless of their background or appearance. It’s a beautiful venue with a lot of potential, but fairness and respect should be part of the...

This place is a joke. I ordered two milkshakes for 90 DH, a fruit salad with a scoop of ice cream for 90 DH, an espresso for 60 DH, and a bottle of Sidi Ali water for 60 DH. A total of 300 DH.
I have no problem spending money, but the quality doesn't even meet basic standards. The milkshake had no ice cream, the fruit salad consisted of only three different types of fruit and weighed a maximum of 100 grams—extremely small portions.
When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the waiter, he sympathized with us and explained that M:Beach is part of the Accor hotel chain and that he runs over there to get the orders. All the ingredients are cheap, processed rubbish—nothing is fresh. He was embarrassed by what they are doing and agreed with us.
The only thing this place has going for it is the extremely beautiful view—nothing more! I strongly advise against visiting. It seems like the owners have made too much money and lost their drive for development, improvement, marketing,...
