Alright, buckle up burger lovers, because I've just experienced what might be the holy trinity of fast-casual dining right here in Essaouira! I'm talking about a place that absolutely nails the beef smash burger, serves up fries that are dangerously addictive, and offers spicy wings so juicy they practically melt in your mouth – all while providing service that genuinely makes you feel welcome. Let's start with the star of the show: the beef smash burger. Forget those thick, sometimes dry patties. Here, they take quality ground beef, smash it onto a scorching hot griddle, creating this incredible crust with those beautiful lacy edges. Each bite was an explosion of rich, beefy flavor, perfectly complemented by the melted cheese, fresh toppings (crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, tangy pickles, and just the right amount of their signature sauce), all nestled in a soft, toasted bun that held everything together like a champ. It's the kind of burger that makes you close your eyes for a second to savor the pure deliciousness. Now, let's talk about the supporting actors that truly steal the scene: the fries. Oh. My. Goodness. These aren't your average limp, pale sticks. These fries were golden brown, perfectly crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. They had that ideal level of saltiness that kept me reaching for more, and they held up perfectly to dipping in extra sauce. Honestly, they might be the best fries I've had in a long time – a true testament to the art of frying. And then there were the spicy wings. Juicy doesn't even begin to cover it. These wings were plump, perfectly cooked, and coated in a vibrant, flavorful sauce that delivered a satisfying kick without being overwhelmingly hot. The spice lingered just enough to keep things interesting, and the meat practically fell off the bone. I found myself licking my fingers clean, completely unable to resist their irresistible flavor. But what truly elevated this experience beyond just the incredible food was the service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a genuine smile and a friendly attitude. The staff were attentive, efficient, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. My order was taken quickly and accurately, and my food arrived promptly. Even the small interactions felt warm and welcoming, making me feel like a valued customer. In conclusion, if you're anywhere near Essaouira and craving a truly exceptional burger experience, you absolutely need to check out this place. They've mastered the art of the beef smash burger, their fries are a revelation, the spicy wings are dangerously delicious, and the service is the cherry on top. This isn't just a meal; it's a satisfying and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Five stars all...
Read moreOk I will give a 5 because it is closer to a 5 than a 4. I had the goat cheese burger. Service is friendly and the place is clean. The food is fresh and cooked once you order, so do not expect to be served in a few minutes, which I personally don't mind as I preferred people taking more time and it is fresh. Excellent burger; taste and size. I took the sigle one, so if you are hungry, all the varieties of burgers can be done with a double or triple patty. I took the single, and it was enough. You have lots of variety, including a homemade vegan patty. The price was really reasonable; 6 euros or 7 usd for a nice burger, fries and soft drink. Where are the opportunities to improve? The fries were average and not hot. My goat cheese burger was accompanied by sauted mushrooms and onions ... there's was not much in it. The bread was really good and fresh however not well suited for this type of burger as after two bites; everything was falling apart and was difficult to eat. Recap: Good food, good service clean place, good price I would recommend it and probably will go back hoping they will read my review and change a few little things to have this place from a good place to a...
Read moreI was so excited to try Munchies after reading all the reviews! So right after I arrived in Essaouira, even though I was hungry, I avoided all the other restaurants and food stands, and walked 20 minutes to Munchies. When I finally got there, it was closed. Online and nowhere it says it was closed today! No warning! Very disappointed. Will you be open tomorrow?
edit: I went to Munchies again today, thankfully they were open! The owner was very kind, and explained to me the opening hours that they tried to change but Google isn’t letting them. The homemade bun was hot, fresh and delicious; the patty as well, although maybe my standard for beef patties are set high because of Los Angeles and Tokyo, but it’s definitely the best I’ve had in Morocco :) Server was very nice as well. Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and understanding. I will be...
