Our party of 4 ate in many places, French, Moroccan, little places in the mountains and the middle of nowhere, over a 10 day trip in Morocco, and this was definitely the worst. It felt like a tourist trap pretending to be a French restaurant. Food and service were both poor. I would skip dinner altogether rather than eat here again.
Service can be slow in Morocco, but usually it's for a reason. This was just bad. Our appetizers arrived, and the waiter still had not brought us any water or the drinks we ordered. I had to ask him for these, or they may have never arrived. The tomato and mozzarella was appetizer was aweful. I don't know what the flavor of the cheese or the green sauce was, but it was inedible. Ordered fouse gras, and it was just slices from a package, no preparation, with a very tiny dolup of fig jam that can be bought in the market by the kilogram. It was as if this tinyiness would impart some fine dining trickery to the mediocre food. The other appetizers were just that, mediocre.
Someone in our party ordered pastille almost every meal, and this one was soggy and fell apart. There was no crunch at all to the filo dough. It was the worst of all our 30 or so meals. A filet was ok but nothing special.
Deserts were average, definitely not close to the other amazing French deserts we had throughout Morocco. Service continued to be excruciating slow throughout, for example being given the desert menu and waiting 15 minutes to order and also having to call out the waiter to get a second bottle of water.
In short, there are much better places to eat, especially some of the nicer riads where we had amazing food...
Read moreMy the pasta was overcooked and the sauce VERY bland (the tastier thing about it was the raw parsley on top), almost ketchup-like sweet ☹️ and it was just poured on top of the food so the pasta was all white with this spoon-like dose of sauce on top (nobody does that in Italy, frankly). The cheese didn’t help to make it better because it was dry and didn’t even melt a little.
I’m Italian and by seing their menu and considering since how long the place has been around (besides the popularity) I didn’t think it could be that bad and I was excited to eat that dish because is not even that hard to make so I was sure I would savour nice food.
The service was okay, even if I did not like the manners of the waiter that made weird jokes, I know it’s not a bad thing and this stuff doesn’t make me uncomfortable but I find it inappropriate to ask if I wanted more pasta after I left it as I could not eat it because I didn’t enjoy it (nobody did even try to understand what was wrong with it. So there you go, now you know my unrequired opinion 😉) and then when I went to the restroom to wash my hands and came back he told me I’ve been fast. Maybe is a kind of humor I don’t understand but in my book that’s straight up rude 🤷🏻♀️ Who does that? With strangers? With clients? I don’t know. I think there’s a place and moment for jokes after making sure it’s appropriate to do so.
The place is beautiful, it has a cozy aesthetic, it’s clean, and all the other clients seemed quite happy regulars, however this is how it went for me and why I rate it...
Read moreThe WORST experience I've ever had! I'll explain: My girlfriend and I ordered some food. When at first they brought the salad, there was a DEAD FLY in it. We called out and one guy, who didn't have any waiter's uniform, came to our table. I said there's a dead fly in this salad. He stared for few seconds without saying anything, then with a very negative attitude asked: "Where? I can't see!". Then I pointed my finger to the dead fly. He took the plate without saying anything. After few minutes, he came back with another salad and put it on the table and left without saying any apologies. After we had our food, I asked for the bill from one of the waiters and said I wanna talk to the manager. The same guy who changed our salad, came and apparently he was the manager, though I'm not fully sure. I explained him politely that the way he handled the situation was very unprofessional. Then he showed his real attitude. He was standing in front of us with his arms crossed and denied at first that there was any dead fly, then I told him that I showed it to you myself and that's why you accepted to change it. Still he didn't apologized, he said that he changed our salad. I tried to explain him that the situation was handled very unprofessionally. But he got mad and in the end he left without saying anything. The rudest restaurant manager I've ever met. The food was ok but nothing special, the chicken tagine was boring and blend, lamb tagine ok, you can find way better foods in other restaurants. So my recommendation to you, just...
