Narwama — Restaurant in Marrakesh Prefecture

Even though the aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful, we had a horrible experience in this restaurant. They have two menu's: a set menu with different courses and an à la carte menu. If you are a tourist they will only offer you the set menu, unless you specifically ask for the à la carte menu. Someone from our group ordered the vegetarian curry but they brought a chicken curry. He got sick after eating it. We ordered a bottle of water, they filled our glasses and then took the bottle away (they never placed it on our table). Later they came to refill our glasses one more time. Once we got the bill they charged us for 5 bottles (300 MAD). We consumed only 2 bottles. The table next to us consumed 3-4 bottles and on their bill they put 9!! bottles of water (540 MAD). When we told the waiter this was not correct, he was very rude and the only thing he could say was "do you want to look at the security footage" and walked away. Two friends had to leave earlier and left cash for their food. Another friend paid for them. When leaving the restaurant they called our local tour guide back inside and made him pay again for the food of the 2 persons who left earlier (he wasnt aware someone else already paid for them). Absolutely unacceptable to be ripped off twice in the same night... If you're a tourist they will try to rip you off. There's other places in Marrakech with nice food, good servicd and a show (belly dancers), where you wont be ripped off so please avoid this place! I really liked this restaurant, the decoration was nice and the building very pretty. I wanted to see the entertainment but couldn't see what time it started anywhere so booked a table for 7:30 and when we arrived they said they didnt open until 8pm so we went back then. Then we found out the entertainment didn't start until 10pm but the staff were very nice and let us sit there without ordering any food and only one bottle of water until later on in the evening so we could stay to see the entertainment. At 8pm it was completely empty and stayed empty until past 9pm. Even when the show was on there were only 3 other tables. The entertainment was good, we saw a fire breather and a belly dancer and the food also really nice (but you should know they were small portions). However, when we got the bill they told us service wasn't included even though we could see they had added 10% on and also on the bottom of the menu it said 10% service added. We were very happy to pay this as the service was good but when they tried to trick us into paying more it annoyed me. When we said 10% had already been added on they said that was tax, except there was no mention of tax anywhere not being included.
