Absolutely Disgraceful – Avoid at All Costs! BEWARE FAKE 5* REVIEWS! Do not waste your time or money here. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. A group of patient, excited women—on our first night in Marrakech—were treated appallingly from start to finish.
We had reserved a table well in advance, only to arrive and be told there would be a 15-minute wait. Fair enough. We were asked to sit at the bar and order drinks in the meantime. When we got to the bar area, the tables we were directed to were dirty, and the seats were marked and stained. I regret not taking photos, but we were trying to stay positive. That was a mistake.
We waited over 20 minutes just to be handed cocktail menus. Eventually, a few drinks arrived—others (including wine and water) were missing and water never came. Aperol spritz was served in pint glasses, despite us later seeing other guests receiving theirs in proper goblets, after staff ran around clearly trying to source more. We were clearly not a priority.
One and a half hours later, still no table. We were repeatedly told “five more minutes” while watching other parties come and go. After constant chasing, we were told that if we stayed, we wouldn’t have to pay for the drinks we’d had and would receive wine and shots as an apology. Starving and tired, we reluctantly agreed. Still, nothing improved. One cocktail each in over 90 minutes.
Then came the breaking point: a waiter—who we hadn’t even spoken to—stormed over and rudely told us it wasn’t his problem and that he didn’t care. We hadn’t even asked for his opinion. At that point, we decided to leave, based on the manager’s previous assurance that we wouldn’t be charged.
What followed was appalling. The waiter aggressively chased us down the stairs, shouting at us in front of other customers. The receptionist at the door also started arguing, refusing to let us speak or explain. When the manager returned, she shouted over us, denied ever saying we wouldn’t be charged, and claimed she had only offered shots not free drinks. She refused to listen and was completely unprofessional. She also stated that people could end up waiting up to two hours for a table, so making a reservation clearly means absolutely nothing. This is not the case at other restaurants!
After repeated threats to call the police and having to fight to have undelivered drinks removed from the bill we paid just to get out of there. The cocktails were overpriced and not worth it in the slightest. And to top it all off, the manager physically shoved one of the younger girls in our group out the door. Even the bouncers looked mortified and apologised to us.
Fortunately, we found a stunning rooftop restaurant just around the corner that showed us what true Moroccan hospitality looks like and set the tone for the rest of our trip. But this place? Utterly shameful. Avoid it - you deserve better!

I’m usually not the type to write bad reviews, however I honestly don’t know how this place gets an overal 4.6/5 because it’s absolutely not worth it.
If there’s one thing I cannot stand, it’s dishonesty and reading other comments, that’s exactly what this place is: dishonest. We booked a table based on the overal review. At first glance this place actually has potential: nice rooftop, pleasant card but soon enough our dissappointment started. The waiters, altough kind, were clearly not used to working in a restaurant. There was at least 6 of them with a restaurant that was nearly half full and watching them was just chaos. Service was slow, waiters were confused and made mistakes (even noticeable on the table next to us). The food was average at best, knowing the prices they ask. We went to several other rooftops that were exquisite and popular and paid 2/3 of what we paid here.
To end our night, we first got our bill which immediately caught my attention as it seemed very high. The woman at the checkout then went on and quicky told us everything that was on our bill, without however giving us an actual bill on paper. When I asked to have the bill to check the amounts, she showed it to me on her computer and I was suprised to see that at the end of our bill an extra dish was added (17€). This dish was not mentionned by her when she reviewed our bill verbally, but suddenly she was like “oh the waiter probably made a mistake” and took that dish out of our bill. I then got told (as other customers in other reviews) that their terminal for card payement “unfortunately” didn’t work tonight and we had to follow one of their people to a bank to withdraw money. Once we arrived at the bank terminal, we withdrew 1000dhs (+-100euros) but we only got our card back and no money came out of the terminal! We were then pushed to withdraw money from yet another bank terminal a little further down the street. Our last night that was supposed to be a pleasant night, turned into a financial headache that we’ll have to figure out once we’re back in Belgium.
To top it all, whenever this place gets a bad review, they answer saying the review is probably a scam from competitors. Well, this is not a scam. We are Belgian tourists who have come to Morrocco for the 13th time already and have never experienced this trouble.
To the owner: Get experienced waiters, turn down your prices or get your food up to your pricey standard and above all: stop scamming tourists with supposed deffective terminals and extra...
Read moreREAD THIS!!!: AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. Read through the reviews. This is a scam and a tourist trap -- specifically regarding the card machine being down and needing to pull out cash out of a specific ATM.
If this restaurant (or anywhere) tries to pull this on you, don't be nice like we did, and refuse to pull out cash if it was undisclosed that it was cash only until checkout.
My partner and I went to this restaurant because of its close proximity to our riad and good reviews. The bread was stale, and the cook who knew how to make all the dishes on the menu was still not in for the day -- we would have needed to wait 45 minutes for some of our menu choices which limited our options, and my partner could not order the dish they originally wanted while looking at the menu ahead of time.
After sharing personal info about where we were staying (our mistake - it is a pricier riad), their card reader was suddenly down and they only could accept cash.
We asked why they did not tell us it was cash only when we walked in, and how long the card system had been down for, which they replied 3-days. They said they thought it was fixed. We informed them that it was their responsibility to let us know that it was all cash upon arrival. We did not have any cash.
We of course were willing to get cash, for which they had a specific ATM in mind they walked us to. The ATM had a 15% service fee which amounted to about $10 USD. It all started feeling scammy.
Mistakes can happen, and so despite the discomfort of walking to the ATM in the heat to solve their blunder, we were understanding. All we asked was for a hummus to be comped that was valued at $8, we thought that was more than fair. In that scenario, I would be comping more than it cost the customer, not less.
Despite this, they refused this reasonable request, and began becoming aggressive and rude. Oussama Oulaydi was our waiter and the two ladies downstairs withheld their names when asked (one had an injured leg from a motorcycle accident).
We explained that we thought the hummus compensation was more than fair, in which they replied they did not have to ability to void the hummus, only the manager does. I asked them to contact the manager, and they were unwilling to do it. Again, feeling more and more like a scam with perhaps the ATM company.
All this was on top of a 10% service fee, so in total we ended up paying nearly $20 extra on a $70 lunch. There are plenty of great places in the area, do yourself a favor and pick another. Wish I had better...
