Over charged, rude staff, wrong order. Albeit good food! Over charging seems to be a theme on the reviews I have read.
I visited this restaurant with you boyfriend for his birthday. The positive is that the food is very good and the location is a nice setting. However, I do not think the customer service is very good. Incorrect food order - although the replacement dish was very good no comment was made about the fact they had changed the dish. It was clear that it was the wrong dish and when challenged no reals apology was made or offer to resolve with the correct dish. Because it was a special occasion we let it drop. Disrespectful - at first the waiters did not realize my boyfriend was Moroccan and so continued to have private conversations very close to our table including discussing other customers in the restaurant. But when they then realized they completely ignored him and would not take any orders from him and instead referred to me throughout. End of shift - we were the last table seated that evening and as we were finishing our last course, the musics was turned off and the waiters had changed into their casuals clothes before we had left the restaurant and were all stood around the bar talking. Double charge - when we asked for the bill an additional bottle of wine had been added to the total. My boyfriend challenged this and again, no apology but instead the waiter blamed it on the tablet ordering process. Meaning even if true, no check had been carried out to ensure we had the correct items. Given we were the only customers by this point, there was enough time to do this! He then went on to ask us to pay by cash as the card machine was not working. When we said we had no cash the machine miraculously was able to work again....it had run out of paper! All in all we were disappointed by the experience and would not recommend any of our friends visit. We are happy to discuss...

Read moreThe restaurant is named after its Srilankan origin owner Bala, who also speaks French and owns another restaurant in the south of France (if memory serves me right). I was bored of tagines and wanted some Indian spiced food. As a vegetarian, I struggled to satisfy my culinary love in Marrakesh and this restaurant came to my rescue. I came here early evening and the staff is extremely polite. I could see the Kotubia and the moon while dinner was getting ready. I ordered for vegetarian Biryani, Samosa and Chana Masala and all of them were good. My review may be biased as I had Indian cuisine after a span of 7 days, but the food was definitely well made. The ambience was great with good soothing music and the lights were perfect. The owner Bala also came around and seemed happy to have a chat with his guests. He was very polite and humble. If you are in Marrakesh and if you are craving for some rightly spiced indian cuisine, then go to Bala's abode and your tummy...
