Cafe Anton in Swakopmund is a classic gem and I am glad to say they have kept to their reputation for high standards of quality. A standout feature of theirs is their impressive array of fresh cakes and pastries. During our visit we tried their apple strudel and schweineohre (pig's ears), which were delicious. If you have a sweet tooth, Cafe Anton is a must visit! Adding to this, their warm and friendly staff made us feel at home. The cafe is easy to find and located within walking distance of most of Swakopmund's tourist attractions, including the Lighthouse and beach. Impressive but... I went to Cafe Anton on recommendations of my Neighbour, while on a rest day during my recent Tour though Africa. I easily found the place and clearly popular, there were quite a few people although it was still quite early. I ordered a decaf cappuccino. Will not order that there again, and my chocolate cake were a bit dry with a bit of a overkill on the icing topping. Unfortunately the service was not up to standard and with the friendly service we have received so far in Swakopmund. I decided to eat at Cafe Anton on the reviews I have read. I ate a pork schnitzel but didn't get any sauce with it. I asked and was informed by the waiter that my wife's Chicken schnitzel comes with a mushroom sauce.
