Slowtown Coffee Roasters - Swakopmund — Restaurant in Erongo Region

Had a really great time with my fiancé here the other day. She had a moccacino which she truly loved everything about, and I had a cappuccino, which was great beyond my expectations. They both were made with their home blend, which I ended up falling in love with enough to actually buy a bag of beans to take home. Their baked goods were also amazing. We had both the chocolate cupcakes and the brownies and honestly we weren't expecting either to be that good. We fell in love with both. Their gift shop has some nice stuff as well, including a nice metal burr grinder (white) which I ended up loving due to its weight as a coffee enthusiast. Overall it was a nice experience. The only downside to me was the challenges around finding space to park close by since the shop is at the road, and also since all the more secluded sits were occupied we had to take the ones slightly closer to the road. But none of those are big enough to affect the experience. If you're ever in Swakopmund, it's a must to drop by Slowtown Coffee...

I would like to say I had a good experience, but one person can often ruin it. The woman at the cash register, who I guess is probably an owner or manager, completed ignored me today when I stood at the counter for several minutes. She acknowledged everyone around me (people who had come in after me), but she acted like I was invisible. The kind barista not only took my drink order, but then had to move over and take my money at the register because the other woman had reverted to being on her phone instead of paying attention to her customers. Was is because I was speaking English and clearly not a local? Quite possibly ... which makes it even worse. If you only respect certain customers, I’m more than happy to not support...

The place is a gem! We ended up coming back every day we were in town. The whole place is adorable and trendy, the food is super yum, as well as the coffee 👍🏽. It’s already pretty frustrating to try and find a good filtered coffee outside the US, it’s always americanos everywhere and they always taste the same. They didn’t have filtered but their americano was bomb! I really liked the quick to-go sandwiches too. They were delicious and really helpful as we were constantly on the go.
