Swakopmund Backpackers — Hotel in Erongo Region

At a lovely night in the soungarden one guest told me that the next night they have a nice music festival and guests who stay in the hostel saving the entry fee of N$200. So I ask the manager of soundgarden if this is true and she confirmed that if I stay with them I don't have to pay entry fee. So next morning I checked out of my current hostel for check-in into Swakopmund Backpackers. Nobody was there except for the cleaning personal, which does not know anything. After 15 minutes waiting the manager of the hostel came out and told me the place is totally closed for renovation and nobody would stay there at the moment. I asked him why the manager of soundgarden told me something completely different. He replied, that she doesn't has so much clue about the hostel. Even the guest from the night before told me he booked the room for serval days and has the whole dorm for himself... Really...

We usually have an amazing stay at this backpackers, and have been at least 5 times. The last few times have made us reconsider our next booking though, which is sad. The pizza place next door is delicious, but the kids who come over to play while their parents eat make the atmosphere at the hostel almost unbearable. They were screaming, running all over the furniture, throwing balls at us while we eat dinner - it was awful. When asked to help, the hostel staff said their hands were tied. They tried to quiet the kids but they obviously had no effect when the parents sat idly by. The lack of toilet paper is also occasionally a problem, but we would still stay regardless of the TP situation. The kids on the other hand are hard to handle. I hope they fix this problem because otherwise this is such an amazing...

We booked and drove from Whk pretty late and agreed that they'd only book us in if we got there by 22h00. Terrible planning arrived at 22h30 and still got welcomed in. Our host waited for us and showed us around. A unique pass code for the gates and doors is given to guests for security. The rooms are equipped with a double bed and 1 or 2 bunk beds. The kitchen is filled with a microwave and stove for your own convenience. The showers are gender separated with super hot water. You won't see the beach from your window but it's about 300m away from the beach. I recommend it for a group that's planning to save on...
