The vibe of the place is superb. The paintings and the ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. This has 2 entrances, front and the back. Parking is easier at the back for bikes in the evening time. Momo was tasty.
This was my first time in Aambo franchise restaurant and that's why i asked for a menu. I was sent to the till and had to wait to be shown the menu because the staff was serving another customer at the moment. So it would have been handy to have a printed menu card or even a poster pasted somewhere as they have very few items available.
We ordered Chicken Momo(Rs 200), Pork Momo(Rs 280) and Aalu Dum(Rs 100). Aalu dum was served within 2 minutes but i disliked the taste. It was like eating a chilli, just spicy. Pork momo and Chicken momo tasted same to me.
It is a self service place so we had to bring everything by ourselves to the table. The portion of aalu dum and the size of momo wasn't satisfactory for the price they asked for. There was no drinking water available on the table, no spoon as well.
I'd suggest the owners to either decrease the price of all items by Rs 50 at least or add table service and free water instead if they want to make us customers feel the worth of our...
Read moreIts a nice little spot and the momos are the best in the country. I have traveled and I order momo eveey where I go. They should increase the supply of atta momos which sometimes they run out of when they get really busy. my kids dont like spicy momos, nor do I. their momo is seasoned just right, kids love it. and they have good sauce for adults who like spicy. They should have a sweet and spicy sauce as well. I like their creamy one that tastes like a tahini/peanut based sauce. I normally throw away the red one. some places around jhamsikhel offer buckwheat momo which is great substitute for non gluten eating folks out there. given ambo is all about momo, I recommend them to keep up serving the delicious juicy chicken atta momo and maybe expand their momo offerings. If you and your family want a quick easy nice momo meal that tastes fresh, juicy, slides down easy and leaves you feeling full, look no where else, go to ambo and get yourself a chicken atta momo to go. you could also chill there if you dont have a large group, they have a nice spot but I normally just get it to go. They deliver too but they get busy so you will have to...
Read moreAambo Momo Restaurant, located in Damkal, Lalitpur, is a great spot for a quick and satisfying momo fix. The restaurant specializes in various types of momo, including chicken, veg, and pork, making it a go-to place for momo lovers. The chicken steamed momo stands out—it’s juicy, flavorful, and served hot in a traditional tapari (green leaf plate), adding a nice local touch to the experience.
You also get to enjoy three varieties of achar (sauce) with your momo, which enhances the flavor. The alu dum is decent, though not the main highlight. It’s a self-service setup, so you order at the counter and collect your food when ready. Soft drinks like Coke are available, and the prices are very affordable.
The ambience is basic, and parking is limited, but if you’re looking for a quick bite and tasty momo at a good price, Aambo Momo is worth a visit. Cash and QR payments...
