We had pre-booked & pre-paid the venue for 30 pax two days prior and had clearly instructed them with the food course, seating arrangements, snacks and dinner time. Yet they could only manage the seating for 15 pax, throughout the event.
The billing scam! Only 29 of us made it to the dinner but the number of dinner consumed on the bill was 32 pax. And these guys were so sure that they served for 32 pax even after showing the group details and photos. Such a terrible experience, the entire event was ruined.
Food was fine but the service & management was a complete mess. And the slow service was something else, had to wait forever for everything and call them multiple times for one small thing. Right away I ordered a Buff Choila as I've found that the quality of Choila in a Newari restaurant is a good indicator of the overall food quality. Unfortunately, the Choila was horrible, and it deeply disappointed me. This, coupled with the meh service, made for an unpleasant experience. I remember when this cafe was in its old location; it used to be one of the best Newari restaurants in town. It's sad to see how much it has declined. Now, it has become a stinker. I hope they can turn things around, but until then, I'll be dining elsewhere. I'm generously giving them an extra star for a cold beer...
