AMAZING SPECIALTY COFFEE STORE WHICH IS DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT (by Melbourne Standards)!
As a coffee enthusiast from Melbourne I was intrigued to see that coffee was being grown in Pokhara, however most of the production is geared towards commercial grade consumption and the cafe’s in town are serving the same quality.
I was super excited to find Nako, a cute small cafe serving specialty coffee in the form of both espresso and pour-over filter - being run by a local Nepalese man who’s passionate about specialty coffee!
There were a number of beans to choose from: one from a local Nepalese farm and the others from better known international regions (South America/Africa).
The coffee was brewed to perfection -with great care. The cafe has seperate grinders for both filter and espresso. They also make their own water by using distilled water and adding third wave coffee water minerals to it. I had the pour over filter coffee which they used an origami brewer for - it was delicious!
The owner was the nicest guy and was very knowledgeable about coffee. He was very welcoming and we had a great chat. It’s obvious that he’s passionate about what he does.
I can’t recommend this place enough and sincerely hope that the cafe achieves the success...

What could be better: • Music from the gramophone can only be heard at the counter, expanding it throughout the space would improve the atmosphere • A few books for reading would be great to spend time on
Overall a pleasant place to spend time with...
Read moreNako Café is an absolute gem in Pokhara! The taste of their coffee is simply outstanding, and the service is just as excellent – warm, friendly, and attentive. The owner makes the best Cortado I’ve ever had, hands down. Since discovering this place, I find it hard to enjoy coffee anywhere else! While they don’t serve food, their cookies are absolutely delicious and pair perfectly with the coffee. The cozy atmosphere and attention to detail make it the perfect spot to relax and savor the moment. Highly recommend for all coffee lovers...
