My partner and I contacted several trekking companies during our planning and Breathe Nepal Trekking immediately gave the best impression. We liaised with Roman frequently over the next few months and he never failed to show great customer service with his helpful information and advice. His speed to reply was also greatly appreciated. We even informed him of our preference to have a peaceful relaxing hike and he was happy to take this into account. We ended up with a private trek in the Everest region with a porter and guide.
When the time finally came around to hike, our guide was Babu (Baburam) and our porter was Marku. Babu immediately gave us the impression of someone who was a genuinely decent and passionate person as opposed to someone who was just there to do his job. Throughout the trek, he demonstrated that he cared greatly about the wellbeing of his customers. He shared with us a wealth of knowledge of the area ranging from plants to mountain peaks to general trekking tips. He also impressed us with a keen eye for spotting rare wildlife. His foremost concern was always safety of his customers and this resonated throughout the trek. Despite this heavy responsibility, it still felt more like a group of friends travelling together than a guided trek. In fact, by the end of trek, Babu and us were already on each others chat apps.
I would also like to mention our porter Marku, who was handpicked by Breathe Nepal, who was a pleasure to be around. She did her job without complaint and always with a smile. In addition, when we were not feeling well during the trek, she would often keep an eye on us as the last person in the group to ensure our safety and wellbeing. Despite the language gap with her, there were many amusing moments and memories along the hike that required no words.
When the time finally came around to end the trek, it was a sad moment. We never would have foreseen that we would miss the bright faces of the two people who trekked with us more than the mountains themselves.
All in all, I can safely say that the next time we come back to Nepal to trek, we will be choosing Breathe...
Read moreWe had amazing 17 days with Roman and this company! After we got in touch with him month before our journey, he organized everything very fast and in the way we wanted. Unfortunately we had to remodel some thinks very spontaneous, but it was no problem for Roman. There is and was always a plan B and C :-). After he picked us up from the airport of Kathmandu and brought us to a very nice hotel, we made a sightseeingtour through Kathmandu. Roman seems to know everything about the city :-)! It was very interesting. Two days later we flight to Pokhara for a stay with friends. Also in that time, Roman always kept in touch and helped us with everything (paragliding, shopping, etc.). Then our 5- days Poon- Hill- Treck started. Because I was traveling with my 66 years old father, Roman decided to change the tour, so that we made it the other way around. The decision was brillant! So we made the 3200 steps down, not up. The trecking tour was my best time of the journey. The tour was perfect, the daily destination was very fair. Roman knows a lot about the treck, the surrounding and the people around. And he was always the one who woke up first and took the best pictures :-) Because time was running and we wanted to do the mountain flight in Kathmandu, we needed do change the tour spontaneously. That was not a problem for Roman. So we started one day earlier the tour to Chitwan. The organized cardriver drove very good and it was a confortable ride. The days in Chitwan were amazing. We did a working and an elephant safari. Saw rhinos, crocodiles and enjoyed the time. Also the last days in Kathamndu were very nice. We had a lot of freetime, did some shopping and enjoyed the time.
We really want to say "Thank you" to Roman. We found a new friend and hope to meet him not only once again in Nepal or Germany!
Roman, thank you sooooooo much! For me and Papa it was a breathtaking time and to share this time with you just rounded it...
Read moreMy friend and I did the 5-day Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Roman from Breathe Nepal Trekking in March and are so happy we chose Roman and his team to guide us. This was our first time in Nepal, and our trek was definitely the highlight of our trip. Roman was an unbelievably awesome guide. He was thoughtful, considerate, well-spoken, and just an all-around cool guy to spend 5 days with (Roman, we miss you!!) We loved how every time we asked if we could do something, he'd always respond, "Why not?" with a smile -- nothing seemed impossible with him. We were actually debating whether to do this trek without a guide, but I’m so glad we decided to go with a guide, especially Roman. It was so nice to be able to wake up, have breakfast already ordered the night before, and then just follow Roman without having to deal with maps, asking for directions, etc. Roman has been in the industry for a while so he has a lot of friends at various restaurants and teahouses. Definitely try to book your tour ahead of time with Roman, so he can get the best room possible. All of the rooms we stayed at had amazing mountains views, oftentimes with direct views of sunrise or sunset. All of teahouses (we stayed in Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, and Ghandruk) had hot showers and warm blankets. Our rooms in Ulleri, Ghorepani, and Ghandruk even came with an attached private bathroom. I loved that after we arrived in our guesthouse each day, Roman would always hang out in the common area -- if we had a question, Roman was always happy to answer it; if we were hungry, Roman could help us order; if we wanted to hang out, Roman had playing cards handy. A lot can go wrong in the backcountry and while traveling, but Roman always made me feel so safe and well taken care of. He also takes great photographs, which is always a big plus!! We can't recommend Roman enough and hope as many people will get to meet Roman and the rest of his team. Thanks for the...
