An other one of those hidden gems. Right in the hot spot of lakeside, where more and more places are owned by foreigners, Sabina still runs an old school authentic restaurant, with more than just reasonable prices. She cooks local food not only fresh and like she learned it from her mom, but also extremely delicious! And on top of that she serves it in huge portions! Speaking of which, I bet you, you went get a bigger cup of tea for less money anywhere in Pokhara, especially not Lakeside! To make you experience perfect, Sabina does speak rather good English and takes you in, as if you are part of her own family. This is making her restaurant a very authentic local experience, which you will not forget! Only down side: you will miss her delicious food (especially the Pakodah)...
Read moreHad a veg thali set for 270 rupees, actually much more expensive in terms of local standard (but of course still cheap enough for tourist standard). Unlike every other restaurant, they refill your set only one time. Not a second time. If you compare that with the famous Annapurna Bhanchha in the city which offers veg khana set with unlimited refill for 125 rupees, it's not a good value for money. I came here only because of time constraints. But of course, the other tourists know nothing and are amazed by the prices everywhere. I tried almost all the vegetarian choices and everything exceeded my expectations, specially the malai kofta and the kadhai paneer: sooo delicious! The breakfast was tasty and served in a good portion, the veg burger and the veg wraps were amazing.
