We were at the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, but we were not quite sure if we want to go back there again. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted cheerfully with the young lady which made us feeling welcome. We looked into the menu’s and ordered Buratta salad, Tournedo steak topped with duck liver and Steak with chimichurri sauce with green asparagus. We got our beverages and also the complimentary slices of sausage followed by Buratta salad we had ordered. Everything went well until we had to wait for our main courses for so long like about an hour and no staff came to inform us anything. We had to ask the lady to follow up the orders. To be honest, we were upset. We also saw other tables got their meals served. The gentleman who I was not sure if he was a chef or someone kept greeting and doing wine suggestion to other guests but never to us. We were feeling like we were skipped and overlooked! After an hour of waiting for steak, the taste and quality of steak were great but a bit bland, however when you topped it up with duck liver, it really elevated the taste of the meat.

To wrap it up, please do not overlooked the customers and revise the appropriate time for preparation of the meal and serving. There is no harm to come and inform that it will take longer time because the kitchen is busy or whatsoever but never omit the...

Thank you for covering the dry cleaning costs for my pants following the incident during my recent visit. While I appreciate your assistance, I want to share that the stain unfortunately did not come out.

On a positive note, I’d like to mention that the starter was very nice, and I enjoyed it. However, the overall experience left me feeling unsettled—not because of the accident itself, as these things happen, but due to the lack of acknowledgment and a sincere apology at the time from both the waitress and management.

What made the situation more frustrating was that no effort was made to clean the spill immediately—I had to clean it myself. While I understand from management that the waitress is young, I believe this highlights the need for training to help staff handle such situations with empathy and professionalism. Additionally, I want to emphasize that everyone deserves to feel acknowledged and respected regardless of the circumstances.

I hope this feedback helps improve how similar situations are handled in the future. A more proactive and empathetic approach would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to see this reflected in your service going forward.

Positiv möchte ich erwähnen, dass die Vorspeise sehr lecker war und ich sie genossen habe. Dennoch hat mich das Gesamterlebnis unzufrieden zurückgelassen – nicht wegen des Vorfalls an sich, denn solche Dinge passieren, sondern wegen des fehlenden Verständnisses und einer aufrichtigen Entschuldigung seitens der Kellnerin und der Geschäftsleitung.

Delicious steak cooked to perfection. The duck liver of the Rossini topping was nothing like i’ve tasted before, what a surprise of delight, melts in your mouth goodness! I loved the truffle sauce of the Parmezan fries. We got seated at the ground floor right by the fire which was nice coz it’s almost freezing outside. We had enough privacy coz the tables are placed far enough from each other. The ambiance was cozy, the background music was nice but maybe a tad too loud for my taste. The service is friendlier than what you usually get in the Netherlands. Simple menu, they also have fish and other meats but mainly focused on steaks. There was at least one to two vegetarian options though. We were there from 17:30-19:00 for a 2-course menu. The only reason I don’t give the 5th star is it’s on the expensive side, though you do get quality for sure. If ever i’m in Alkmaar again i’ll for sure come back to this place and will definitely...

Definetely recommend booking ahead as this place is very busy. No wonder-it is THE PLACE TO BE for a great atmosphere, professional staff and amazing food. The service was absolutely amazing, attentive, explained everything we needed to know before choosing from the menu. Always ready to fill up our glasses and to ask if we are happy with everything. I ordered a glass of wine and then we aksed for the whole bottle however the wine did not taste the same-probably because it was freshly opened and did not have a chance to breathe. The waitress offered to open another bottle with a smile on her face. We did not want it and kept the one that was already opened but it was a good test to see the reaction. The steak was amazing and if you are a veggie like me, do not worry, there are dishes to choose from. So, all in all, if you are looking for the WHOLE EXPERIENCE it is 100% recommended-the best in Alkmaar (so far :).

Hoewel ik uw hulp waardeer, wil ik u laten weten dat de vlek helaas niet is verdwenen. Positief wil ik opmerken dat het voorgerecht erg lekker was en ik ervan heb genoten. Toch liet de algehele ervaring me met een onbehaaglijk gevoel achter—niet vanwege het incident zelf, want zulke dingen kunnen gebeuren, maar vanwege het gebrek aan erkenning en een oprechte verontschuldiging op dat moment van zowel de serveerster als het management. Wat de situatie nog frustrerender maakte, was dat er geen moeite werd gedaan om het gemorste direct schoon te maken—I​k moest het zelf schoonmaken. Ik begrijp van het management dat de serveerster jong is, maar ik geloof dat dit aangeeft hoe belangrijk het is om personeel te trainen in het omgaan met dergelijke situaties met empathie en professionaliteit. Bovendien wil ik benadrukken dat iedereen het verdient om erkend en gerespecteerd te worden, ongeacht de omstandigheden. Ik hoop dat deze feedback helpt om te verbeteren hoe vergelijkbare situaties in de toekomst worden afgehandeld. Een meer proactieve en empathische aanpak zou de algehele klantervaring aanzienlijk verbeteren. Bedankt voor uw tijd, en ik hoop dit terug te zien in uw service in de toekomst.

Delicious steak cooked to perfection. The duck liver of the Rossini topping was nothing like i’ve tasted before, what a surprise of delight, melts in your mouth goodness! I loved the truffle sauce of the Parmezan fries. We got seated at the ground floor right by the fire which was nice coz it’s almost freezing outside. We had enough privacy coz the tables are placed far enough from each other. The ambiance was cozy, the background music was nice but maybe a tad too loud for my taste. The service is friendlier than what you usually get in the Netherlands. Simple menu, they also have fish and other meats but mainly focused on steaks. There was at least one to two vegetarian options though. We were there from 17:30-19:00 for a 2-course menu. The only reason I don’t give the 5th star is it’s on the expensive side, though you do get quality for sure. If ever i’m in Alkmaar again i’ll for sure come back to this place and will definitely recommend to others!

Definetely recommend booking ahead as this place is very busy. No wonder-it is THE PLACE TO BE for a great atmosphere, professional staff and amazing food. The service was absolutely amazing, attentive, explained everything we needed to know before choosing from the menu. Always ready to fill up our glasses and to ask if we are happy with everything. I ordered a glass of wine and then we aksed for the whole bottle however the wine did not taste the same-probably because it was freshly opened and did not have a chance to breathe. The waitress offered to open another bottle with a smile on her face. We did not want it and kept the one that was already opened but it was a good test to see the reaction. The steak was amazing and if you are a veggie like me, do not worry, there are dishes to choose from. So, all in all, if you are looking for the WHOLE EXPERIENCE it is 100% recommended-the best in Alkmaar (so far :).
