ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE We came in around 18:00, we ordered drinks and a few minutes later our starters and main course. It was nearly 20:00 before we finally received our main courses. I had a mixed grill and my wife had Chicken Fajita. When the waiter asked how it was, I could only tell him this after sampling a few bites of the different parts of my mixed grill: the chicken was dryer than sandpaper, the chorizo was saltier than the Dead Sea, the steak was ordered medium, but it ranged from well done to raw, the spareribs were salty as well, not as salty as the chorizo, but I stopped eating that just after I was about halfway through when the taste of burnt food settled in.
You earn stars in a review, but the only reason I can think of for even earning that one star is the waiter who tried his absolute best to make something of this godforsaken evening. I cannot say the same for the manager, at least if the receipt stated correctly that it was the manager who processed our payment. For this review's sake I'm going to assume she was. After being informed by the waiter of our complaints, she came over to our table, not even introducing herself as being the manager. Asking again what was wrong. I explained again that the taste was terrible, for my wife's dish mediocre at best, which she replied to with "if it was terrible, why did you eat so much of it?". At this point my blood was boiling. Telling and showing her that I literally ate parts of each piece of meat and stopped the moment I tasted the terrible cooking. With each item on my plate I hoped it would prove me wrong and that maybe one or two things would be off, but instead every chapter in this horror story was mostly another layer of disappointment on top of the previous one. The moment that I was just completely done with her, was the moment she even tried to argue that I ate much more than half. She then finished the conversation by informing me of the various ways I could pay the bill.
My recommendations: The owner should fire the manager Guests should avoid this place The chef that prepared my meal should take cooking lessons or find something...
Read moreI loved Rosita's! Yes, it is not the cheapest place to eat at but the reviews were right. The portions might seem small when they first arrive but will definitely fill you up. We didn't have any leftovers tho, so it was the perfect portion for us.
I chose the enmoladas (tacos) as I'm a massive peppersauce fan. This sauce was so thick and heavy, which startled me at first, but I ended up loving it. It was definitely a little overpowering but I didn't mind. I had a bite of the birria tacos and they were soooo good as well!
As a dessert, three of us ordered the Churros Cheesecake but that eventually turned out to be just regular cheesecake upon serving. I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew they were out of churros, so that was a shame. It would've been nice if they'd let us know before hand or would've given a discount for the cakes, but neither happened.
Quite an expensive meal but very good and would love to return for a special occassion! We went on a friday at around 18:30, but in summer, and they were still enough free spots. So not too sure when its busy and when its not.
They also serve glasses of sangria, which I personally never find at any restaurant, which was tasty as well.
TL:DR; recommend the enmoladas if you like a pretty thicky mighty sauce, recommend the birria...
Read moreAt Rosita's in Almere Stad I had a great dining experience that made me forget for a moment that I was in the Netherlands. From the moment we entered, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere in the restaurant is truly unique; the warm, Latin interior breathes the soul of Mexico and makes you feel at ease immediately.
Another big plus was the music. The rousing Latin sounds created a cheerful, relaxed atmosphere. The bar is also a real eye-catcher. The open kitchen is also definitely worth mentioning. It is always fun to see how your food is prepared, and it gives you an extra sense of connection with the place.
The food itself was fantastic. The portions were generous; we shared a dish for one person and it was more than enough for me and my sister. We had chicken tortillas and beef meatballs (albondigas), and both dishes were delicious. The combination of different flavors and spices made it a true taste explosion. You can really taste the freshness and authenticity of Mexican cuisine.
All in all, my visit to Rosita’s was a great experience. From the food to the atmosphere and the service, everything was perfect. I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Mexican food or just wants to have a special evening. I will...
