Indian Accent - Taste of India — Restaurant in Amersfoort

For the past year, we have been regular patrons of Indian Accent - Taste of India in Amersfoort, drawn by its delicious food and generally great service. The restaurant has been a go-to spot for us, especially for starters paired with drinks, and we’ve occasionally enjoyed a 30% discount through The Fork when available. Until recently, this made for consistently pleasant experiences.

However, our visit yesterday left a sour taste that has completely changed our perspective.

We ordered our usual starters and drinks, expecting to apply the 30% discount from The Fork, as we’ve done multiple times before. To our shock, the staff denied the discount, claiming it doesn’t apply to starters and the Terms & Conditions on The Fork have this specifically mentioned. This was blatantly untrue. The Fork’s terms clearly state: “30% korting op het eten. Niet van toepassing op drankjes of speciale menu’s.” We didn’t order any special menus, and in the past, the same discount was applied to starters without issue.

A 30% discount isn’t a make-or-break amount, but being lied to as customers is unacceptable. This dishonesty has shattered our trust in Indian Accent. Despite the tasty food, we will never return. Amersfoort has plenty of other Indian restaurants that offer great food and, more importantly, treat their customers with honesty and respect. Save your money and...
