Restaurant Oliva- cucina italiana-bar — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Attentive service from friendly staff, clean and generally good looking plates of food, with good to almost overgenerous potion sizes, and reasonably good value as well. Also a nice selection of wines available by the glass. I ordered the "tournedos" (fillet steak), ordered rare, and took up the option to replace the fries with rosemary potatoes. When served, I had a very nice looking plate of food, a rather large (thick) steak, and a sauce that I had forgotten was included. Since that was with gorgonzola, I asked if I could have one of their other sauce options, as I really don't like any blue cheese. No problem, within a couple of minutes I was given a very nice, somewhat spicy, red wine sauce. The vegetable garnish was very tasty, and the beautiful piece of meat was also seasoned very nicely and super tender. Why only 3 stars, I hear you thinking? Well for one, I don't think this place is quite good enough for 5 stars even if everything would be optimal; 4,5 would be the max. Secondly, I was served fries instead of the rosemary potatoes, shame about that; I was in a bit of a rush so decided to enjoy the good fries instead. And finally, and most importantly, that thick, tender, lovely steak was nowhere near rare. Nicely grilled on the outside, but most of the steak was barely above room temperature, and the thickest part was barely above fridge temperature. That normally would have cost 2 stars, but that meat was so tender it was still nice. If i had had more time available, though, l would have asked them to cut the steak in half and put the cold inside onto the grill for a minute. Then it probably would have been perfect! If I'm ever in the area again, I might well revisit this place to see if they cook all their meat so far under, or if they can raise their rating along with their steaks' core...

Amazing experience! The food was excellent. The flavors were amazing, everything was perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. I can without question say that this is the best food I have ever been served. The amount of food is extremely generous and there are so many varieties! Our server was so attentive & friendly! I cant wait to go back! You get the full experience from the artistic presentation of the food on the plate to the heavenly taste you get, makes you never wanna...

I went to visit Amersfoort and one of my friends in the US recommended this restaurant to me as a nice place to eat in . I went with husband and we were welcomed by a very friendly staff member.
