Let me tell you about my experience at Nón Lá Thais & Vietnamees Restaurant: not only did they serve up some of the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted, but they also managed to restore my faith in humanity—and possibly saved me from a career in dishwashing.

First, the food. It was chef’s kiss amazing. The kind of deliciousness that makes you briefly consider moving in next door so you can eat there every day. Every bite was like a flavor party in my mouth, and everyone was invited. And the service? Top-notch. The staff was so attentive and kind that I half expected them to tuck me in with a bedtime story after my meal.

But here’s where things got interesting. After indulging in this feast fit for a king, I reached for my wallet, only to realize I had no euros. Zero. Zilch. Nada. It turns out they only accept cash. Cue panic. I started mentally preparing myself to scrub every dish in the restaurant for the next week. But instead of handing me a sponge and a bucket, the staff simply smiled and said, “No worries, just come pay another day, when you have cash.”

Excuse me? In what universe does this happen? Had this been anywhere else, I’d probably still be scrubbing pots. But at Nón Lá, they chose kindness over protocol.

Fantastisch eten. Helaas blijkt het restaurant wel eens zonder aankondiging gesloten op een dag dat op de website staat dat ze geopend zouden zijn. Vanavond tijdens het online bestellen vloog ineens het bestelsysteem dicht toen ik wilde afrekenen. Toen ik hierover telefonisch contact zocht kreeg ik te horen dat de keuken gesloten was en daarom de bestelsystemen dichtgezet waren.. dit was om 20:15 uur (op de website staat vermeld dat de keuken altijd open is tot 21:00 uur). Daarnaast wordt er zelden gereageerd op email (of weken later). Ik vind dit niet getuigen van goede service.. ik weet niet of dit Thaise mentaliteit is? In ieder geval erg jammer, want het eten is...

Nous avions réservé la veille pour le dîner du lendemain.Nous nous sommes presentées légèrement avant 7h00 pm.Dans un premier temps la serveuse nous annonce qu il faudra attendre en raison des commandes.Lors de la commande elle nous précise bien : pas de cartes de crédits pour régler, puis une fois les plats choisis , nous dit qu' il n y avait plus de boeuf , nous changeons pour un plat avec du porc , il était également impossible d avoir de l'eau plate.Une autre serveuse vient et nous dit qu 'il n y avait plus de porc non plus .C' était de trop , nous sommes partis sans dîner.
