BARTACK — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Went there a Sunday 14:07 and ordered a large draft beer and a plate of bitterballen snacks. Got a small beer at 14:30 and the first waiter said that I will get another small one later because of the mistake - 23 min wait for a single beer. I asked for a ashtray. She said she will come back right away. I never got it. 14:40 I got the snacks from a second waiter - 33 min wait. 14:50 asked for the other beer (second waiter) and the ashtray as well. Got the ashtray at 14:53. “Beer is coming” 15:00 I got the small beer from the first waiter. She said it was on the house. 15:07 the second waiter came outside with a beer, looking confused, asked another table if they ordered one- they didn’t. So she offered them the beer for free. 15:17 I paid at the bar. She said it was for two beers and I corrected her so I paid for the snacks and one beer. Also I apparently paid 8,5 for the snack and it said 7,5 on the website menu.

Almost one hour for one big draft beer (or two because of the mistake) and a small plate of snacks. No drink while eating. Today we came here just for a drink at 17:15. The place is closing at 18:00 but it wasn't possible for us anymore to have a drink because they closed the final round already. How do you guys do business? What's the idea of this place? What a shame this place is going down. A bit more customer orientated attitude and I would be back.

It use to be my favourite place in the area. But with management change the service and ambience quality changes too. They are strongly understaffed and this is going on for about a year. The service is always nice but I can't even remember how many times I had to wait for a service to bring us a menu for more than 20min. Numerous times I was waiting for food close to an hour. And I have already got use to my order will be missed. It feels like a pattern that if I will order something for the second time it won't arrive because it...

I rarely leave reviews, however this time I feel like sharing quite a disappointing experience. I booked in person midweek for Saturday explicitly because we have a 3 weeks old baby and asked for a table for 4 that was covered and close to heating, especially as weather forecast had rain. I was told it was perfectly fine and I would have been given two tables in the covered area next to each other, as each table accommodates only two people. Unfortunately the day we show up, those tables were never available and we were asked to sit around the corner where no protection from rain was available. Rest of the story is predictable: it started raining after just 1 hour and we had to leave as no other covered seating was available.
