Bendito café — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The owner was super lovely and made us really good coffee! We ordered 'Clockwork Orange' smoothie and it was really filling and healthy tasting (in the best way). When ordering a sandwitch I chose the 'Brielicious' because it looked the smallest and very minimal, but it turned out to be actually really big and perfect tasting! The bread tasted so so fresh and went perfectly with the brie and honey-mustard dressing. The walnuts and rucola made it even better! The best sandwitch I've ever had, love to the café! And they also served ice cream which was the best we've ever tasted, so pure taste! Will forever remember the place and people with love! If we were locals, we'd visit it all the time. The only item I'd consider ordering again is the pastel de nata. It was nice, though I’d prefer an option without cinnamon.

The pão de queijo was just okay. Despite being their specialty, I’ve had much better elsewhere in town. The coxinha wasn’t worth the calories—it seemed baked rather than fried, and the chicken seasoning was quite different from the Brazilian standard.

The sandwiches were also just okay. Given that they're a Dutch tradition, I’d say they’re below average for this price range compared to other places in town. I'd rather go to Albert Heijn and build one myself than...

There’s no better place than Benditos cafe in the whole area. I live almost straight across and regularly come here to get a coffee or something more. Everything is well prepared and the owner is a wonderful man full with positive energy. Staff is very friendly and amicable and the atmosphere is - being made up with different styles of furniture - remarkably relaxing and well set up. Absolute advice.
