IJscuypje — Restaurant in Amsterdam

You get 4 stars but I just had the worst customer service experience in long. I like one of your ice cream flavors so much that I go a long way to come to your place. You are I think the only ice-cream parlor in Amsterdam serving vegan sugar free ice. Which I think is wonderful. It’s the sugar-free Rosemary ice cream. Probably the guy behind the counter wasn’t aware of that or at least he didn’t care. After a 15 minute bike ride upon entering the shop I see the specific outlet doesn’t serve it. To be sure I want to ask the sales person. I am alone in the shop. He’s on the phone somewhere behind. He calls out:’I am right with you’. I wait. When he comes with a friendly smile asking how he can help me I ask after the sugar free Rosemary ice cream, just to be sure, you don’t have it? He talks loud ‘no that’s a horrible one, no one eats it, we always throw it away, it makes no sense to offer it etc…’ he continues a bit more. I excuse myself and say friendly ‘that’s a pity’. I am disappointed and I feel misunderstood. I decide to cycle all the way to the other side of town. To visit another outlet of yours. There a very friendly girls serves me a big cup with 3 scoops of the ice...

It used to be an amazing ice cream/gelato place, but sadly, after years of popularity, it has turned mediocre. The pistachio ice cream used to have real pistachios pieces in it, but now it's just food coloring and heavily artificial. I hope IJscuypje returns to the time when their gelatos were delicious. I have been going there since 2010, every year the quality go down and prices go up. Sadly, they even charge extra for pistachio ice cream that is not...

Great selection of flavors but a big improvement point is that the ice cream (grapefruit) is so full of sugar, i could hardly eat it.

In addition : why is there no sugar free option? How about people who have diabetes, insulin resistance or other health issues?

Ijscupje zeeburg offers sugar free ice cream, at least 2 flavours. I would like to see more inclusivity and thinking about...
