Read moreI was expecting good things from this place but i was let down when it came to the food.
The restaurant itself is beautifully laid out and the atmosphere in general is quite pleasant.
The servers are very nice and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed on the night.
Unfortunately, here comes the bad part and the most important part, the food. I ordered the special of spaghetti with a parmesan sauce from the wheel itself and truffle shavings. It was nice on the first half bite but after that it was far too rich, but I can never leave a plate full even if I don’t like the food. So I finished the plate which led to me feeling a bit unwell.
My girlfriend ordered the beef ragú but substituted the gnocchi for spaghetti. This was probably the worst dishes I’ve ever tasted from an Italian restaurant. It was so bland, as if the chef poured a can of chopped tomatoes into the sauce and did nothing with it. It was labeled beef ragú, but there wasn’t much beef at all. Service and atmosphere 5 stars out of 5. But food standard you’re...
Read moreI write this review as I sit in this restaurant wishing I'd never bothered to leave my hotel room. Due to unexpected circumstances I am here in Amsterdam alone so I thought I'd cheer myself up with a nice meal. I entered the restaurant and was completely ignored by at least 3 members of staff. When I did manage to speak to someone, he seemed resentful that he had to deal with me. I asked if I could get a table for one to which he replied, probably not but il ask my manager. The manager was polite, friendly even, and put me on a table. After this, I waited perhaps 15 minutes without even being given a menu. I asked for 1, and I haven't seen the lady I asked for it the entire time I've been here!! Someone else eventually came over with some complimentary bread and offered me a menu. I waited quite a while to be served and the food also too ages to come out. I ordered the spaghetti vongole which was just ok. Waited an additional 10 minutes for the lady to bring the parmesan I asked for. Overall I really am displeased with the service. I genuinely feel completely ignored which isnt ok! That being said.....everyone else here seems to be having a great time...... But they are also being served in a...
