BAD SERVICE especially from the guy at the bar. That individual does not know Hospitality, I know that Amsterdam is a tourist machine so you are a simple number and a € sign in your head. But there is nothing better than making a person feel like they are at home. Well if you are looking for that, this place is not what you are looking for. Hey, if you want to be well served, feel at home and enjoy delicious snakes and incredible services and cocktails, you better be at Tales & Spirits, believe me, if you know the meaning of the word service and hospitality. Let me tell you about my terrible experience in this place. I had just a couple of hours in the city of Amsterdam, I was returning from running the Berlin marathon, I was tired and I decided to explore the city in search of something special. I was with my brother who saw this place and said let's see here. I asked one of the Servers if he had a table for 2, the boy placed us at the table. When the Bartender says Hello! (in an arrogant way) they are going to sit at that table, I replied I would just like to have a beer but if there is a problem I can sit at the bar. They are already going to sit down and I have reservations (there was nothing to indicate that the table was reserved) I told him again we can sit at the bar, no problem. Then he pouted his lips and his body language was not friendly at all. I ordered 2 beers to which he didn't ask me which one I would like, he decided for me when I told him I would like Leffe blonde he told me but once I served the beer my brother said no problem I'll have that one. We asked for the menu to check what the options were. Then the question with the glasses full of beer was: Can I help you with something? Good common sense of someone who knows how to sell and treat their guests well would be to ask Madam, did you see something appetizing to eat, would you like to hear my suggestion since you have an excellent beer from Belgium, could you combine it with this dish. As you will understand there is a big difference. Well, the Bartender made me feel like I was unnecessary in this place when I asked if I could help with something? My response was YES you can help me, give me the bill. To which he was surprised. Since I speak and understand Dutch, I think that also surprised him, perhaps because of the conversation with his colleague. We don't have to be arrogant to show that we are good. And appearances are deceiving. Stop belittling guests. And treat everyone with respect...

1000/10 I just arrived in Amsterdam and this place was recommend by a friend, let me tell you… best impression ever. The food: delicious!! I want to come back and try more.

The smash burger is better than any I’ve had in the states and the cookie with salted caramel ice cream was perfect and I’m the type of person that has tested 50+ different chocolate chip cookie recipes. The guy next to me had the leeks twice. Anyway the food is soooooo good you will be over the moon.

Now to the cocktails. I don’t drink much but Kevin made one of the most delicious and perfectly paired drink with what I was eating I’ve ever had. I told him what I like and he made a special cocktail that is better than anything I’ve ever had.

If you’re reading this, it is the rum, cherry lime foaming one. Add that to your menu, it is so good.

Last but not least, the service was great. The vibes were cool and the music had me accidentally dancing in my seat.

This place books out, I ate at the bar but 1000000% recommend eating and drinking...

Our experience with this bar started off amazing but ended horribly. We discovered it by chance on our way to a museum and loved its cozy atmosphere, cool music, fresh people, and nice cocktails. We returned later with friends and had a great time.

The next evening, we spent several hours there again and invited more friends, enjoying the ambiance. However, on the third day, everything changed. We wanted to sit at the bar but were rudely told by a waiter that four people couldn’t sit there, despite there being enough chairs. His aggressive and mean tone shocked us. When we tried to clarify, he became even ruder.

Feeling disrespected, we left and decided never to return. For a bar with such high prices, investing in staff training on proper customer treatment is essential. Without respect for its customers, no bar has a great...

Cozy spot to have gorgeous natural wines and people-watch among a sea of cool Amsterdammers in a beautiful canal-side venue in the Jordaan. Food were of high-quality with well-thought-of flavour combinations. Shellfish was great, though a bit small - the broth made up for it though! The calf tongue topped with an egg and truffle supplement was delicious but could do with a thicker slab of the tongue and a more generous shaving of truffle considering it was an 8 euro supplement. The patatas-bravas adjacent crispy potatoes were great though! Would definitely come again.

A truly delicious meal and a great spot! Kikie is a lovely restaurant by the canals. Must haves are the burger (which is one of the best I’ve ever had) and the moules frites which had a lovely creamy white wine sauce. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and they had an incredible playlist playing in the speakers. If you are looking for a delicious meal in Amsterdam, then I highly recommend Kikie. Oh and make sure to leave space for the sticky toffee pudding!
