This message should've been written ages ago, but I want to thank Michael De Graaf for guiding me throughout my case and never giving up. I learnt so much about Dutch tenancy law/rights and how to approach certain situations with caution and maturity. Michael is trustworthy, smart and honest in everything he does and I'm grateful that I can return to Heikens Kantoor for further help when necessary.

I'm an international resident who lived in an apartment in Amstelveen. Initially, there were three tenants (including myself) and there was no living room. because the landlord rented the living room as a bedroom. Once the municipality intervened, one of the tenants left voluntarily, however, my former landlord still tried to evict me multiple times (using intimidation and harassment) without any legal incentive because I had a permanent contract and did nothing wrong.

From the beginning, I hired Michael and we kept in contact. I cannot stress enough how much Michael (and Marcel) helped me overcome this situation and win the case. I collaborated most with Michael and his patience and rational, calculated approaches boosted my confidence in staying strong, hopeful and not being afraid of the landlord. Marcel is a nice guy and seems to know a lot about NL employment law. The only thing is his verbal communication is not clear and only communicates on email in Dutch, despite the companies business language being in English.
