Restaurant 95 — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Ok, So I don’t write reviews, in fact, this is my first ever. I just had such a bad experience at NO95 I just had to write about it.

The first course came in good time and the food was good with no real issues. We then ordered our main course. 45 minutes later I enquired to the waitress to see if our meal was on its way. She came back to the table to say that nothing had been ordered other than what we had already had. She ran into the kitchen and they started to make our main, not once did we receive an apology or any explanation. 25 minutes later our food finally arrived, which was decent, although missing a major ingredient that we hadn’t been informed of until the food was at our table.

We then, probably a mistake, decided to order dessert because it had an item that one of us hadn’t eaten in years. 30minutes later, the dessert arrived. Again with no apology or explanation.

Finally, it was time to pay. I brought up the fact that we had been in the restaurant for 2 and a half HOURS. The waiter who forgot our order told me that “this is a restaurant, you wait for your food”, what do you expect. I said that I don’t expect an hour wait for food at a restaurant that only has 12 other people in it. The replied with the same comment, again, no apology and no nothing. We paid the bill and will never return, I would advise you to steer well clear and try another one of the restaurants...

Food is good, as well as the price. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but for pescatarians there is enough to choose from. Shrimps were nicely prepared and the sauce was tasty and rich.

Service was really kind and personal. The waitress warned us, that food would be spicy. But after heard we like spicy food, she was more than happy to offer us some more chillies.

Dessert was really good. The date cake was fluffy, moist and tasted amazing. One piece should be enough for two.

Party of 7 for dinner. Price was too high for what you get overall. The virgin mojito of the day was 9 euro and was just some sparkling water and squeezed lime with some mint in it. Tasted ok but for 9 euro it was ok. The starters bitterballen and croquettes were nothing special. Tasted like supermarket food, but overpriced for 7 euro for 3 mini croquettes. Main course was the adana and it was good which saved the evening. The service was fine but on the slow side, but to be expected when we are with 7 people. Would not come again due...
