Mangiamore (Mangiassai) — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Last Saturday it was my.... eight (?) visit here. Had some antipasti which is always great (tho olives with every dish?). But the main reason I go here is for the pizza. Honestly, its one of the best I can find in Amsterdam.

And here come the only negative part about my review, getting pizza here on a Saturday always seems to be an issue... the waiter actually told us (before we even started to order), that we should get the pizza, because it was very busy. This wasn't the first time, and honestly I do not mind waiting for a good pizza (I did before), but the service during the waiting was also a lacking (the guests next to us, actually walked to the bar several times to get their orders in).

Anyway, this place is great, the pizza is awesome, the other dishes are also good... oh and the wine is lovely! just beware when you go there...

Good food, but bad service.

We had a very good food. I love the pizza, antipasta plate and burrata. They were all very delicious. But the wine was bad.

About the service. Drinks comes, food doesn't come. Drinks finish, then food comes. We order new drinks, it comes too late. Then food finishes before drinks come. We just couldn't manage to have food and drinks at the same time. Either food or drinks were too late. I can understand the food. But how can drinks be too late? It is just a bottle of wine or beers. At the end, we were charged for the drinks we didn't get. Luckily they deleted it. All this happened in a week day, when it was not full.

So 5 star for the food. But 2 star for...

This was the best pizza I've had in a while! Really nice pizza, I had a 4-cheeses which was lovely, and my friend had a pizza with broccoli. I could not believe broccoli on pizza is a good idea before I tried his pizza - they managed to make even broccoli taste nice on pizza!! Thin crust which bends when you take a slice, no toppings sliding off, not too much grease by any means; lovely fluffy golden brown crust on the side - really fluffy and airy!

And the personnel are so kind, at some point the hostess came to us and said I should talk less and eat more of my pizza before it gets cold :-) really kind, friendly, not intrusive but warm.
