Imagine: a rare warm September evening, one of the few sunny days offered by this country with no summer and no good food. 6PM, you've just finished work and the only thing you want is to enjoy the sun with a nice cold beer. Ok I would prefer GOOD wine, but you know, we are in NL. I sit down at the table, gesture to the waiter (aka: the sloth), he sees me, nods, disappears. He comes back to take an order for another table, I nod, he disappears. He goes inside to tap some beers. Veery loong iinteermiinaable minutes to pluck two beers. I nod at him, he nods, comes out with the beers, serves them and then goes to some people who just sat down. 15 minutes have gone and I still haven't ordered. My son wants to go to the bathroom. We go inside, he uses the toilet, I use the toilet, he notices the beer barrels underground and he asks me how the beer taps work, we spend around 10 minutes there. We go back outside and I hope to return to the table and to find my wife with the beers served, but guess what?
At 6:30PM the sloth arrives; and the beer I want to order is not available.

However it ended up being a disappointing lunch and doubt I’ll be rushing back. For a bar in Amsterdam the range of drinks on offer felt a little limited and the more common options aren’t available. The mix of food on offer is a much better balance though and ideal for a lunch time meal.
I opted for the burger which was served rare. So rare in fact that we debated whether it had actually been on a grill at all, and ended up being inedible. Portion size was good though and the ribs were tasty. A refill of drinks also ended up taking so long to be served that we thought it had been forgotten, only turning up once we were about to leave. In the end it didn’t feel great value for a casual lunch, which is a shame for somewhere that looked to have so...

At €18.50 is it’s just scandalous , I returned the food quite promptly saying it was bad had a foul taste and also looked absolutely crap , they handled the situation badly insisting that the food was fresh bought in that morning but the waitress agreed the lettuce looked off - a row ensued and and they charged us for it...
