(visit: 2019-12-08)

This is a small place, quite a cosy bar that serves meals. Based on photos I'd seen on Google I decided to give it a go.

I ordered liver and bacon, choosing wedges as a potato side. The liver was a large single slice, fried but still quite tender within, accompanied by a generous topping of fried onions and salty smoky bacon lardons, lovely and rich in flavour. The potato wedges were still skinned so had a nice rustic bite to them. Accompanying this was a small bowl of side salad; I think the dish could have benefited from some other veg along with a sauce or gravy of some kind - but it was quite tasty. I washed everything down with a bock (strong dark beer) then a light wheaty Weiss to follow.

Wifi was somewhat sporadic in this place; the waitress warned it wasn't great so I didn't bother with it. I liked the soothing soft light (I didn't get a reflection off my tablet) so was happy to stay off-grid and chill for a bit in the relaxed environment.

I decided to revisit it for the next night to try out a different dish, this time selecting the steak and gravy, with chips and side salad. Although the steak was great and chips dry and crispy, I found the gravy to be a tiny splash - perhaps I should have ordered a steak sauce to accompany it. That, with salad, all washed down with a couple of beers (weiss on tap, Affligem in bottle) was a pretty satisfying meal for the evening.

The place seems popular but not too full; although I took up a table that could seat 4, there seemed to be no pressure to move me on - I sat happily relaxing whilst other patrons came and went. There's quite a tranquil feeling about the place and it felt like someplace to waste a couple of hours relaxing with a good book or crossword.

I'll certainly return again next time I'm...

We have been in this little bar more or less by accident, since we were looking for a restaurant. From the outside you get no clue they actually serve more than some bar food but we are glad we found in. Inside it is cosy, original and narrow but you instantly feel welcome. The service was excellent and quick. And the food?... Oh my gosh. We were delighted. We would have never guessed. It was fantastic. Good portions, good pricing but the quality was off the chart. I had the spare ribs and my girlfriend had the carpaccio. The meat quality was fantastic. Overall the food level was superb. Best spare ribs I had in a decade. And when you enter you would never guess their food was on such a high level. We returned another time in our 4 day stay and ordered exactly the same because it was that good. And we'll return some...

After an exhausting day I went to this bar together with my friends to enjoy a tasty and friendly dinner. However right at our entrance we were met with annoyed glances. At first we thought it was because of the language barrier, as we were foreign students on vacation. We ordered drinks and were brought unwashed glasses. (There was a lipstain left on 1 of them) After that no one made the effort to check in with us again, which should not have happened as the place was nearly empty. The bathrooms were also weirdly structured, as one had to walk through the men's before being able to enter the women's.

We left after our drinks and cannot understand the good reviews. Maybe locals are treated with respect, but if you are younger/ a foreigner be cautious dining at...

Amazing little cafe just off the beaten path. The chicken satay was incredible and the service was great. There are seats inside and outside with two cozy little patios to choose from. Myrabelle is just outside the main tourist area but close enough that you can easily walk there. Also, it's on the way to the museums so worth a visit if you need a beer and some food after enjoying some art or history. One last thing, the prices here are a little below the main tourist area so that was a nice bonus!

Stumbled upon this place just by chance and it was the best meal my friends and I had our entire trip! I had THE BEST veggie burger I’ve ever had, my husband had the double beef burger, and my friend had the Schnitzel! Our meals came out fast and delicious and we still talk about this meal days later.
