Blown away at the complete lack of any hand hygiene practices whatsoever. I asked for a scone on Saturday 5th Aug around 12:00. There was a guy behind the counter, he was not very well presented and proceeded to pick up the scone I asked for with his bare hand after touching his face! I immediately said I didn't want it anymore obviously and he put it back, again with his bare hand. Not sure if anything registered with him but management you really need to sort this out, this is exactly how people get sick. Noticed that others working there were also handling the food with their bare hands, some of them with massively long nails - which is also totally against proper hygiene practices. HACCP anyone? I noticed after looking at some other reviews that this has been mentioned by others before. Do you...
Read moreIt looked beautiful when we walked by so we decided to have a coffee. It was not busy at all (just one other table when we ordered) we waited 15 minutes for our two coffees. I then went in and asked and yeah they forgot our coffees...I reminded them we want to drink here the guy said yeah sure and poured the coffee into to go cups. I again told him we actually wanted to drink in ceramic because we do not like throe away cups - he argumentet the cups get too hot (because they have no handles) so he can not carry them - well he actually got a tray and poured the coffee into real cups so we could "enjoy" them. The other guests inside had everything in ceramic so we do not know what his problem was. Maybe we just had bad luck with the staff - but so far I can...
Read moreI recently tried the Parisian breakfast at Het Vlaamsch Broodhuis, which included a baguette, croissant, and a choice of coffee or tea. Alongside these, they served three spreads—jam, peanut butter, and chocolate spread—all presented in their original jars, which, to be honest, looked quite unappetizing. Each spread came with its own spoon, a thoughtful touch, but it raised hygiene concerns for me. The use of communal spoons invites the risk of double-dipping, leading to potential contamination between patrons. It's not the most appealing or responsible approach. As a suggestion, providing separate, clean containers for each spread that can be easily washed in the dishwasher would greatly improve the overall dining experience in terms of both freshness...
