We visited Chai Affairs Breda as a group of 6 adults and 5 kids on a night when the restaurant was completely packed. Despite the crowd, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive—setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Having experienced Indian cuisine in over 30 countries, I can confidently say that this was one of the most authentic and emotionally resonant meals I’ve had in Europe. The food at Chai Affairs feels like it comes straight from an Indian home kitchen—beautifully spiced, lovingly prepared, and notably free of the excess oil and heaviness that often characterizes Indian food abroad.
Our group ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes, and I personally went for the Kadai Paneer, Malai Kofta, Gulab Jamun with Rabri, Moong Halwa, and Garlic Naan. Every dish was a highlight in its own right, but the Kadai Paneer stood out in a way I’ll remember for a long time. It instantly took me back to the rustic charm of a roadside Rajasthani dhaba—smoky, spicy, and soul-satisfying.
The Gulab Jamun with Rabri was another standout—expertly balanced in sweetness and texture, a perfect way to end the meal.
What truly impressed me was the menu itself. It's small, but clearly carefully curated to showcase a beautiful fusion of Rajasthani and Punjabi flavors. Each dish told a story—one that reflects the passion and dedication of the owners behind this culinary gem.
Highly recommended to anyone seeking real Indian flavor with depth, tradition, and heart. I’ll definitely be back—with even more...

Read moreI am so glad I discovered this place! Amazing flavourful food with incredibly friendly staff. They can adjust the spice level to your preference from Dutch all the way to an inferno. Make sure you ask for the mango lassi, they are delicious.
I tried the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. Two of my mainstays when first experiencing any Indian restaurant. I have to say, they did an amazing job.
You are first met with the intoxicating aroma of a perfect blend of Indian spices that beckon you to indulge in the house-made sauce that perfectly compliments the succulent flavourful chicken. I was sure to order sides of the surprisingly delicate and wonderfully seasoned butter and the garlic naan to scoop up any sauce that was in danger of being left on the plate. The aromatic basmati rice was perfectly cooked and made for a delightful palate cleanser between bites. I highly recommend The Chai Affairs as one of my all time favourite restaurants. I can’t wait to return to try the rest of their menu.
