We visited Chai Affairs Breda as a group of 6 adults and 5 kids on a night when the restaurant was completely packed. Despite the crowd, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive—setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

Having experienced Indian cuisine in over 30 countries, I can confidently say that this was one of the most authentic and emotionally resonant meals I’ve had in Europe. The food at Chai Affairs feels like it comes straight from an Indian home kitchen—beautifully spiced, lovingly prepared, and notably free of the excess oil and heaviness that often characterizes Indian food abroad.

Our group ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes, and I personally went for the Kadai Paneer, Malai Kofta, Gulab Jamun with Rabri, Moong Halwa, and Garlic Naan. Every dish was a highlight in its own right, but the Kadai Paneer stood out in a way I’ll remember for a long time. It instantly took me back to the rustic charm of a roadside Rajasthani dhaba—smoky, spicy, and soul-satisfying.

The Gulab Jamun with Rabri was another standout—expertly balanced in sweetness and texture, a perfect way to end the meal.

What truly impressed me was the menu itself. It's small, but clearly carefully curated to showcase a beautiful fusion of Rajasthani and Punjabi flavors. Each dish told a story—one that reflects the passion and dedication of the owners behind this culinary gem.

Highly recommended to anyone seeking real Indian flavor with depth, tradition, and heart. I’ll definitely be back—with even more...

This Indian restaurant in the city centre brings a slice of authentic India to Europe with its rich flavors, warm ambience and attentive service. Whether you're a fan of classic curries or North regional specialties yet, the menu offers a wide range of well-executed dishes that cater to both traditional Indian palates and those new to the cuisine.

What’s Great:

Authentic Flavors: The spices are spot on — vibrant and aromatic without being overwhelming. Signature dishes like Daal makhani Pav bhaji Samosa butter chicken, mutton paneer thecha malai kofta Gulabjamun with Rabri All the dishes Stand out for their balance and depth of flavour. Weekend menus stand out because of their uniqueness.

Ambience: Tastefully decorated with Indian art and a cozy atmosphere, perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

Service: Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are happy to explain the dishes and make recommendations. Service is usually prompt and courteous.

Waiting Time: Can get busy during weekends or evenings, so reservations are recommended. My Thoughts: One of the best Indian dining experiences in Breda— a must-visit for anyone craving bold flavors and a warm cultural experience. Great for both newcomers to Indian cuisine and seasoned food lovers looking for a genuine taste of home...

I am so glad I discovered this place! Amazing flavourful food with incredibly friendly staff. They can adjust the spice level to your preference from Dutch all the way to an inferno. Make sure you ask for the mango lassi, they are delicious.

I tried the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. Two of my mainstays when first experiencing any Indian restaurant. I have to say, they did an amazing job.

You are first met with the intoxicating aroma of a perfect blend of Indian spices that beckon you to indulge in the house-made sauce that perfectly compliments the succulent flavourful chicken. I was sure to order sides of the surprisingly delicate and wonderfully seasoned butter and the garlic naan to scoop up any sauce that was in danger of being left on the plate. The aromatic basmati rice was perfectly cooked and made for a delightful palate cleanser between bites. I highly recommend The Chai Affairs as one of my all time favourite restaurants. I can’t wait to return to try the rest of their menu.

A Hidden Gem in Breda for Authentic Indian Food! 🌟 We recently visited a newly opened Indian restaurant called The Chai Affairs in Breda, and it was truly a delightful experience! It’s rare to find authentic desi taste in the Netherlands, but this place nailed it — probably for the first time since I moved here.. Most Indian restaurants here tend to tone down the flavors to cater to a broader audience, but The Chai Affairs has stayed true to its roots. The food was rich, flavorful, and genuinely reminded me of home. You can tell they care deeply about quality and authenticity. They’ve only been open for 6 weeks, but they already deserve a lot of love and support from fellow Indian food lovers. If you're craving real desi flavors, this is the place to be. ☆☆☆☆☆ for their Rajasthani & Panjabi authentic taste! The service could be bit faster but hope with the time they will catch up.. Go check them out and cheer them on — they deserve it!
