Bario Food Yard — Restaurant in Curaçao

We made a 5:30pm reservation for 2 adults and 2 small kids. Showed up at 5:00 with one sleeping/sun drained kid and one hyper one. The host greeted us and accommodated us with such kindness and understanding. We sat at a table with a bench for the kid to sleep and he recommended another table further back with an even better couch and a shorter table.

We asked if they had smoothies that we could order for the sun drained child - he said they don’t but he will whip one up for us.

He then packaged our food to go for us so we could head out when the taxi arrived.

Service 10+/10

We got back to our hotel and within the first 2 bites my wife and I said this was the best food we had all week. Barbecue Saturday is a must-have for anyone visiting Curacao!

This restaurant is NOT suited for people with celiac disease. The menu they have claims to have the gluten free symbol on some of their dishes but when you read the ingredients many of them are not gluten free (fried onions, soy sauce) they also cook everything on the same oil so the risk of contamination is extremely high. Just because a dish doesn’t have bread/flour does not mean is gluten free friendly. One more thing to add, the prices are completely absurd for the almost minuscule portions they serve. There was only one single thing that was actually gluten free and it was so small it really was not filling for one adult, maybe for a child? the place is cool and the atmosphere is nice but unfortunately I will not be returning to this establishment and if you can’t eat gluten I would suggest to find other places to have dinner for the same price with much better options and portions. Wow! Hidden Gem!! I love this place! The cocktails are to die for, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is nice and comforting. Perfect spot for a date, or to just relax and have a good time with friends. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I loved this place so much I went back the following day with a family member, and would have gone again if I wasn't flying back home. The owners are hands on and down too earth. I met 2 of them while I was there. I like that this business was started by 3 local friends. They placed a lot of love and hard work in this place, and it shows.The food and drinks are a perfect local fusion. They also have live music on certain days of the week. Not to be missed.
