This place is a bit of a local institution in Delft. We stopped here for lunch and sat outdoors on the pontoon. The atmosphere was fantastic, with beautiful views of the canal, the City Hall, and the Spire of the New Church, and the whole place was thoughtfully decorated. The staff were very nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

The printed menus are in Dutch, but you can easily scan a QR code to access the English menu, and there is a big selection of items to choose from. I ordered the fresh ginger and mint tea, which came with a side of Delftse elderflower syrup — really delicious and refreshing. My husband had the homemade lemonade and loved it as well.

For food, we tried the Salmon Surprise bread roll (salmon mousse on a bed of cucumber, lettuce, egg, and alfalfa, garnished with radish and dill) and the Oude Delft Burger, which came with fried bacon and egg, onions, and melted cheese, and the Sweet Goat Salad.

The burger was absolutely delicious — juicy and full of flavor. The sweet goat salad was also really delicious. The Salmon Surprise, while beautifully presented and very artistic, didn’t quite hit the mark for us; it felt a bit too dense and heavy.

There are plenty of seating options inside, outside, and on the pontoon. Overall, it was a wonderful spot for a relaxing lunch by the water with some of the best...

Been here twice however the manager (I assume she is) is not friendly or service oriented at all. I first went on a Saturday and wanted to give it another shot as I thought maybe staff was just stressed due to it being busy. I went back couple weeks later on a week day / much calmer however it was still not great.

Most of the younger people that serve there are kind and good but the manager really is not it.. She always looks upset, not customer friendly and seems like she does not care for the job.

First time we got dirty utensil’s and when asking for a new spoon as it had clearly been used they gave me another dirty one / or the same one they tried to wipe off?

When asking for possibilities for a wedding brunch the manager seemed to be unwilling to work with us at all.. Everything we asked was not possible even when requesting a specific table or quieter spot she told us that we will just be given any random table and have zero say in it even if it was for a Monday morning in autumn which the manager said would likely be not busy anyway…

I understand if some things are not possible but the way we were told and treated really wasn’t good.

The food is decent but nothing special.. Left there with a very uncomfortable feeling and will...

We, as a party of 6 went on sep 23rd 2023 and asked if we could be seated together. We had explained that we were willing to wait. The manager/head waitress was soo rude, it was unbelievable. It was raining and we had an infant with us. No empathy or compassion at all. We were told rudely that we blocking the door (even though we were not) and was asked to either sit down or leave. We had to split which we conceded, but it was very disappointing because there were multiple tables that could easily accomodate us as we came after lunch rush. Even as we were seated, there were more and more empty larger tables and she refused to accommodate us. Additionally she was heard speaking to the staff unkindly about us. I am unsure if it was racially motivated as we were a party of Asians. It was disappointing as the rest of the staff were quite nice just the manager. The food especially the bread was good. The restaurant is actually quite charming. Honestly the way we were treated really just dampened the mood and was...

To me (and all national and foreign visitors I have taken with me) the #bestpancakes in The Netherlands! This was the place where I enjoyed my very first when I moved to NL. I remember it as if it was yesterday: a hearty #spek #appel #rozijn #pannenkoek (bacon, raisins, apples). My mouths begins to drool just by the thought of it. Funny enough they have never won a prize for pancakes, but can boost of having the #best #broodjes (sandwiches or panini) in NL -you can count the troffees on the picture as a matter of reference. Giving only 4 stars because the salads are not as good. Fun fact: if you order a pancake check the number on slip placed under your pancake (literally 😊). If you are lucky enough to get a double-zero (00) termination, the pancake is for free 💪❤
