Had an excellent Dutch meal here this evening. They were friendly and attentive. They were very busy when we arrived and warned us that although they had a table they wouldn't be able to serve us for 45 min. Despite that we didn't feel neglected during the wait and it was well worth it - the food was excellent. Two of our party had the Sea Wolf - which we'd never tried before and it was superb, we also had the chicken soup, the meatballs and the sausages all of which were excellent. All washed down with an interesting Dutch red wine (I don't think I've ever had a Dutch wine before - it wasn't half bad).

We were particularly impressed that they noticed that the 10 year old who was with us was flagging and went out of their way to encourage him

All together a great evening at a restaurant which...

We walked in this little charming restaurant on the back street one block off the canal, backed by the recommendation of our host and the Google 4.9 review. The interior is lovely cozy and quintessential like the town of Haarlem. The chef who speaks 7 languages fluently came to chat and recommended us a few local dishes: traditional beef stew, exotic deer stew and clam stew. Everything was delicious and i particularly loved the Dutch parsley used in the seafood. The chef said it only grew along this stretch of the coast. The pickled poached pear is lovely too. The beer from Amsterdam monetary was nice...

Quiet little restaurant on a peaceful street, accompanied by the sounds of a cat meowing and someone showering in the top apartment. Despite the calm setting, there always seem to be plenty of cyclists and pedestrians passing by. Inside, it feels calm and welcoming.

I had a Werf Hemelsbruin beer and looked it up just to be sure I wasn’t drinking a dessert. It turned out to be a great match with the mussels, which were well cooked, full of buttery flavor, and had a hint of parsley. Dutch food prepared with care and a surprisingly healthy touch. I finished off with a slice of apple pie, that pie crust really...

We were visiting from Canada and came upon this lovely restaurant. It was very busy and we had no reservation, but the gentleman who greeted us (who turned out to be the owner and chef) welcomed us in. He advised us that it was going to be a bit of a wait, but we were okay with that and sat down for drinks. There were only two of them working that night, and both were jovial and attentive despite what should have been a very stressful evening! Everything was amazing and it was one of the best places we ate at during our entire visit. Names of dishes are creative, and are captioned on each photo.
