Today I went to this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, as we live in Hoorn and have always wanted to eat here. Before I even report my experience, I want to say that we were extremely poorly treated, we suffered racism and enormous prejudice on the part of the employees. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, such a special day and in the end we had one of the worst experiences of our lives. It was humiliating. We made the reservation, arrived at the restaurant around 7:00 pm and the waitress, very rude by the way, immediately informed us that the all-you-can-eat menu we booked would not be suitable for the time we were arriving, as they could not meet the demand for all the desired dishes until 10pm, as they were very full, however the restaurant had several empty seats, so they induced us to take the a la carte menu, which has very few options and of course, is much more expensive at the final price. Faced with such pressure, with enormous unwillingness on the part of the attendant, we then ordered the a la carte, deviating from our reservation and initial intention and ordered drinks and starters. After that, we waited for approximately 45 minutes for someone to come to our table so we could order the main dishes. Nobody came. We went to the counter and asked someone to please stop by our table to serve us. After 15 minutes, no one came. So we decided to ask for the bill and with a very mocking face the attendant directed us to pay and we left. We went from there to a nearby restaurant, where we were treated extremely well. I will never set foot in this prejudiced, xenophobic and racist establishment again. I definitely don't recommend it to people who aren't local. Worst...
Read moreThe waitress snappy asking us if we had a reservation without a proper hello, should have been a warning. We just wanted to have a drink and some cheese. It took at least 10 minutes before another rude waitress came to see if we wanted to drink something (while at least 3 where hanging around doing nothing), when we asked for a menu she roled her end left. A third waitress came to bring the menu and pointedat a qr-code for the drink menu. When I asked if they had wifi so I could access the url, she also was unpleasant in het responce that I could obviously connect to their guest network. Next to the drink menu there was also an allergy menu. Handy as my wife is gluten intolerant. We double checked the cheese and it was glutenfree. We got our drink and after a bit of waiting another waitress came with our cheese. It seemed covered with bread slices, when I made sure this was glutenfree, see lied that it was. After insisting she'd douple check she found out it was not. Another waitress came to double check what was the problem with an attitute. It turned out they had two cheese orders on the menu, but as half on paper and half behind a qr code that was very unclear. She was plain rude, but took the cheese back. We finished our drink and left. We will never come back and already warned people to stay away from this place. You better spend your...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews we went to “gewoon lekker anders” with high expectations. Let’s start from the beginning: we reserved a table for two and were placed in the dark side of the restaurant. There are no Windows over there. We found it too dark. The table was quite small and the cutlery really needed a replacement.
The food was good, but not special. We started with the “Luchtige Pita” and a Tomato Soup. We enjoyed the Pita a lot.
Menekşe ordered “Biet Wellington”. This was a nice vegetarian alternative. The spinach was lacking some taste but overal the taste was good.
I took the Ossenhaas. That was very good and tasteful. But for € 34,95 expected some more side dishes.
So long story short: if you plan to eat here make sure you get a table on the light side of...
