Funky Monkey — Restaurant in Leiden

Very nice place, very nice staff and very good food.

I can't say anything negative about this restaurant because everything is perfect.

The place has 2 rooms the first room is a bit modern and has a bar in it, the second room is made to look like an american diner (like those in the movies) and has a lot of blues music and american props.

The staff is very friendly, they come and ask if everything is ok and if u need anything. But not in an anoying way or something. They had a very large group the day i was there so the waitress came to my table to apologize for the delay and gave us a free drink in compensation, and she also notified us when they started with making our food.

The food was super delicious i had a medium t-bone steak and it was the best steak i ever had it was nice and juicy and the seasoning was great the side salad and the fries where good as well. I also had ribs and burgers on home delivery before and they where also verry good everytime i ordered there.

If you want a good dinner and have some money to spend this is very much a place to go its definately worth the money. They will be...

Great burgers/service/ quality, and now great location! The new location is a definite improvement, it is so much cosier, the other location was ok but very open plan and out of the way. The style is the same and it's great you get a real diner feel! On the outside it's a bit toned down, it needs a big 'Bel air diner' neon sign, we almost walked past and it was our destination! The service is fantastic, very customer friendly, their hearts are really in it. Don't expect a quick cheap burger fix, the burgers are the real thing, cooked on open fire, certainly not cheap but excellent price/ quality. We very much our enjoyed our evening at Bel Air. A real feeling of a friendly, family-run restaurant and bar. We enjoyed a couple of burgers - the 3 pigs and the tex-mex, with sides of calamari rings and onion rings. Our request to replace one portion of fries with a salad was not a problem. Nice availability of beer and wine. The menu says, for example, 'red wine by the glass', and I was presented with 3 choices. I appreciated being given options for a house wine.
