Great Indian Restaurant in Leiden! I live in Leiden and this is my favourite restaurant. The food is amazing and so is the service. I eat in the restaurant often with friends and I also have food delivered to my house which is not too far away. My go to order is the following: lamb Madras (which comes with Basmati rice), naan bread, cucumber rhaita and sliced red onions. This also comes with papadums and chutney. It’s amazing! Love the spicy Madras and the very nice refreshing rhaita. Always arrives at my house promptly and piping hot! I order the same when I dine in with friends. We are usually about 8 people and the service is great! The atmosphere is very cosy and comfortable. My friends order many different dishes. While we wait for our meal the papadums are served with different sauces, mint, chili and chutney. Nice beers such as Kingfisher. Again the food is awesome and very fresh. Everest Tandoori is a great restaurant and I highly...
Read moreAbsolute Disaster: Service, Spice, and Arrogance (1 Star) My experience at this establishment was unequivocally the worst I have encountered. The service was deplorable from start to finish. The server who delivered the food was incredibly rude and seemed more interested in arguing than in providing basic customer service.
Compounding the service failure, the food itself was borderline inedible due to being excessively spicy.
The absolute breaking point, however, was the profound lack of respect shown to the customer. To receive such sub-par service and then be subjected to the sheer audacity of having to listen to demands for "thanks and appreciation" for not even providing the bare minimum is astounding.
I would never recommend this place. Between the consistently bad service, the overly spicy food, and the arrogant attitude of the staff and management ("the replying person"), this restaurant ranks as the worst on the planet. Avoid...

I am a globe-trotter first and foodie second. I love good Indian food as every Indian would, have been to a gazillion Indian restaurants all my life in Asia, Africa and Europe but never before encountered such poor customer service in a restaurant here in Leiden. There is no first-come first-serve basis for customers here and the customers' time is of no value to them. The owner has a bad attitude and there is unfair treatment meted out to lone travellers and couples as well as long waiting times for smaller crowds versus large groups of people. I would not recommend this place for young travellers and for business dinners when waiting times and quality of service...
