FIGO — Restaurant in Maastricht

Figo has such a fantastic vibe, and I have to say, the waiters are absolute gems. so friendly and knowledgeable, five stars for them alone. The food, however, has been a real rollercoaster. I've been three times, and you never quite know what you're going to get. My first visit was amazing, but the next two just didn't hit the same mark, which feels off for the price you're paying.Some dishes are brilliant such as the clams pasta, and the steak has incredible flavor (though the portion size seemed to shrink on my second visit). But other dishes were a gamble. The Parmesan soufflé was alright once and underwhelming the next. The "strawberry tiramisu" was really just whipped cream with biscuits, and the oyster negroni had a confusing flavor that just didn't work for me ( it’s something and nothing).The service, while friendly, is also very slow, with long waits...

We had dinner as a group of four, along with a stroller and our dog. The staff was incredibly accommodating — they quickly found us a comfortable spot and made sure everyone felt welcome, including our furry friend. Bij een Italiaanse osteria verwacht je authentieke, smaakvolle gerechten, de Italiaanse keuken is tenslotte een van de beste ter wereld, toch? FIGO probeert hier een moderne twist aan te geven, wat op sommige momenten goed werkt, maar soms ook wat minder uitpakt. De “strawberry tiramisu” was bijvoorbeeld wel creatief, maar voor mij te zoet en kunstmatig van smaak, waardoor het weinig met een klassieke tiramisu te maken had. Het hoofdgerecht was daarnaast aan de zoute kant.

De bediening was vriendelijk en attent, al viel één personeelslid op door een wat overheersende eau de toilette. De sfeer in de zaak is verder prettig, en het concept heeft zeker potentie — zeker als FIGO iets meer de richting van een echte, authentieke osteria...
