The staff welcomes you in italian to fully experience the vibe of the restaurant. As you arrive the menu is pretty long so they give you lots of time to think and decide. As soon as you are done they come right to you to take all the order. We order some water and a glass of wine of the house. If you order starters the staff adds extra cutlery. They are fast and taking care of every detail. The food was excellent and really tasty. The portions are also incredibly generous. If there's a complaint about the food it would be that I missed a bit of mascarpone taste on the tiramisu but still it was really worth it. The main problem I would say it's the small size of the place and the many customers, although the staff made some efforts to locate us in a good table away from big groups, it is small to create a 'romantic' vibe. Maybe just don't go on a Saturday night š
Something we did not understand is the high price for a big bottle of water (7,5⬠for 0,75L) what is the need for that? Your food is good enough for putting that high price...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff at Il Giardino have brought a slice of Italy to Maastricht. Absolutely delicious dishes accompanied by the warmth of Italian culture. It was a very busy evening at Il Giardino, yet we had so much fun. Iāll definitely return on my next trip.
We had four to our party. Every dish was excellent. We kicked it off with a Calamari appetizer. I was in the mood for an old fashion plate of lasagna⦠simple⦠ha ha. Their lasagna is as I remember it as a young adult living in Italy. Thank you for taking me back!
The wine selection was awesome. If you follow my reviews, youāre aware of my recent travels in Sicily. Il Giardino presented us with a bottle of Donnafugata Tancredi. Did I mention āIāll be backā?
The staff was/is spectacular. They are the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey will demand that you buy entire pizza for every customer at the table, while the single pizza they serve is enough at least for two adults. As a result, each customer in this restaurant ordering pizza is stuck with a large plate they are struggling to finish. This is just a rip-off scheme to sell more pizzas. I have never been to a restaurant elsewhere in Europe or in the US that would refuse to serve a single pizza plate for two or more customers (like they did in the case of my company of two adults and a child) and demand that they order more lying about their pizza serving size. Guys, are you that desperate for money to rip off your customers imposing on them more of your lousy pizzas?...
